Great story
Revisado: 04-02-25
This story is such a great, inspirational story. I loved it. The layout of all the characters and their stories was perfect.
The narration was great too, but the only thing I didn’t like was at some places I was distracted by the sound of the narrator chewing gum. It sounded like it anyway; it could’ve been something altogether different, but whatever it was, it was distracting.

Narrator was not a good fit
Revisado: 03-24-25
The narrator was not a great fit for this story. He was too old sounding for the parts. The story itself would be ok read myself, but I could not finish listening to get.

The whining
Revisado: 11-29-24
I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but I will here. The storyline in itself is fine. But, there was waaaayyyyy to much whininess going on. I want to always finish a book that I start so I did go on (after having to stop several times just because of it!). But, even after all the crap she went through growing up with an abusive father, an a-hole, she never got any “balls” until the very end! Geez!
The narrator did a great job though. Had the perfect voice for it.

Historia
The Girl of Sugar Beach is the most watched documentary in television history - a riveting, true-life mystery that unfolds over 12 weeks and centers on a fascinating question: Did Grace Sebold murder her boyfriend, Julian, while on a Spring Break vacation, or is she a victim of circumstance and poor police work? Grace has spent the last 10 years in a St. Lucian prison, and reaches out to filmmaker Sidney Ryan in a last, desperate attempt to prove her innocence. As Sidney begins researching, she uncovers issues that were all overlooked during the original investigation.

Historia
Emily Emerson is used to being alone; her dad ran out on the family when she was just a kid, her mom died when she was 17, and her beloved grandmother has just passed away as well. But when she's laid off from her reporting job, she finds herself completely at sea until the day she receives a beautiful, haunting painting of a young woman standing at the edge of a sugarcane field under a violet sky. That woman is recognizable as her grandmother - and the painting arrived with no identification other than a handwritten note saying, "He always loved her."

The story itself is great, but I got so distracted by the narrators voice. Sounds like the voice is choking at the end of sentences, having to force the words out most all the time; even when changes to male voice. I’m attempting to finish the audible but not sure if I can.

Bad narrator
Revisado: 05-23-24
Tried to get through even the first few chapters but too much “narrative emphasis” on the attempt to change the voice tones. The actual book may be better as for as the story line goes, but the narration copy is very difficult. Could not finish it.

The Untold Story
Revisado: 02-28-24
This book is phenomenal! Once I started it (audible) i couldn’t stop! Could not stop thinking about all the women and their stories, memories, etc., that they went through while in Vietnam and when they returned home. Ms Hannah did exceptional in writing their stories. I’d highly recommend this book, whether audible or book. The narration of this book is one of the absolute best I’ve listened too.

Molly Alcott didn't expect to open her mailbox one summer morning and find an old letter stuffed between bills and a supermarket flyer. Penned in familiar handwriting, dated over 15 years ago, the letter was written to Molly after her first date with the man she'll never forget. Week after week, new letters appear. Each marks an event in the history of their epic love affair. Each heals a wound. Each holds the confession of the man who still owns Molly's heart. Molly wishes she could unread them all. Historia
Allie Kirkland has never been one to take wild risks. But when she's offered a costuming assistant's job on a docudrama in the hills near Moses Lake, she jumps at the chance. She's always dreamed of following in her director-father's footsteps, and the reenactment of the legendary frontier settlement of Wildwood is a first step. The family expectations will have to wait. But in 1861, the real Wildwood held dangerous realities. Town founder Harland Delevan held helpless residents, including young Irish schoolteacher Bonnie Rose, in an iron grip.

I absolutely loved this novel! The story, intertwining the past and the present day was wonderful! And the narrators were awesome! There’s not a lot of narrators that are this good. I highly recommend the audible version because the narrating is perfect!
