Historia
It’s been hundreds of years since King Arthur’s reign. His descendant, Arthur, a future Lord and general gadabout, has been betrothed to Gwendoline, the quick-witted, short-tempered princess of England, since birth. The only thing they can agree on is that they despise each other. They’re forced to spend the summer together at Camelot in the run up to their nuptials, and within 24 hours, Gwen has discovered Arthur kissing a boy and Arthur has gone digging for Gwen's childhood diary and found confessions about her crush on the kingdom's only lady knight, Bridget Leclair.

Fantastic read!!
Revisado: 01-07-24
I thoroughly loved this book! It had witty charm, dark humor, and characters that were reminiscent of The Locked Tomb series but it wasn’t too lofty and tied the story up nicely in one go.
Not gonna lie, the double narrator was kind of annoying at first. I found myself wishing it was just one or the other because the voices for characters would change somewhat (however, it seems they did try to match each other) depending on which narrator was speaking. But, as I got into the story the double narrator grew on me and I was okay with it by the end. I think I’d still rather just one, but it was interesting to listen to a book this way.

Historia
Buying into the dream that education is the road out of poverty, a teen mom takes a chance on bettering herself, gets on welfare rolls, and talks her way into college. But once she's there, phallocratic narratives permeate every subject, and creative writing professors depend heavily on Freytag's pyramid to analyze life. So Ariel turns to a rich subcultural canon of resistance and failure, populated by writers like Audre Lorde, Tillie Olsen, and Kathy Acker. Wryly riffing on feminist literary tropes, We Were Witches documents the survival of a demonized single mother.

I have never read anything like this before, it was amazing. It was thought provoking and made me want to think more about feminism and how we define it and the experiences we have and how they define us.
Hearing this book from the author was perfect. You can hear the confusion and anger, the happiness and fakeness - that self-preservation in action. I adored this book and will be picking it up in print. I can’t wait to read more from this author. Thank you so much.

Historia
Eccentric and reclusive, Emily Dickinson wrote poetry that reflects the richness of her interior world and the peculiar beauty of her inner vision. During her lifetime, her poetry was considered too unusual to be publishable, but after her death in 1885, Dickinson achieved posthumous recognition as one of the great poetic voices of the 19th century. This collection, read by Alexandra O'Karma, includes commentary and some of Dickinson's letters as well as 75 of her over 900 poems, including such favorites as "Because I Could Not Stop for Death," "'Hope' Is the Thing with Feathers," "There Is No Frigate like a Book," and "There's a Certain Slant of Light."

Outdated
Revisado: 11-26-21
There has been a lot of new information about Emily Dickerson and her poems and letters found in recent years. I was particularly interested in hearing about the scrubbing and reorganizing of Emily’s relationship with her sister-in-law, Susan, but she was not mentioned. Instead, the history portion of this book really emphasizes her relationship with the Clergyman and even goes are far as to suggest that she was an infatuated and obsessed girl. Meh, it was the original thought behind her letters and poems, and I’m not saying she wasn’t, just that there’s more to her story and so this is outdated.

One of my favorite books
Revisado: 06-03-21
I can’t say much about the story, it is one of my favorites and I reread it like six or more times a year xD
This was my first time listening to it and it wasn’t bad. At first I was worried because I knew there was a 3 year old in this story who had lines. I thought I would hate Amy’s voice but it actually grew on me pretty quickly! And I didn’t mind it at all. I actually really didn’t like Brodys voice! It wasn’t what I expected xD I had always imagined a mean, cool as steal, sly voice, but the narrator decided on a sort of nasally old man voice that you could tell she was plugging her nose for xD not bad, just not what I imagined. She was also a little choppy and it seemed like she might not have been fully prepared or was still kind of new, but it didn’t hinder my enjoyment. I’d definitely listen again :)

Funny and cute and sweet all over!
This slow burn feels like a true story and had me giggling the whole time. Sometimes it was a little predictably cliche, and a little too cutsie and sweet, but I didn’t mind.
Also the narration was perfect as always!!

I enjoyed this so much!
Tasteful cut aways from in depth descriptions of sex, but still plenty of naughty stuff to giggle at. Interesting characters that interwove through each others lives. It felt very real and I loved every second!
The narration was perfect! I loved that each character was distinguishable and done really well.

Surprisingly great!
Revisado: 05-14-21
I did not expect what this book had to offer!
I just got Audible and wanted to find some interesting new titles since my regular kindle reads we’re getting kind of stale. I searched literally the most generic statement, lesbian audiobooks, and huge list came up. I randomly picked a title and it just so happened to be this one.
The story was so good and the characters were so real. I felt invested, like I was watching a movie about these people’s lives. I felt for the characters, and wanted to find out how the workplace situation would settle. I was definitely surprised by this story in a good way.
The only thing I’d say about the narration is sometimes the character voices would bleed over. Occasionally T-Bomb would have Jill’s voice, or Jill would have Elle’s, but it wasn’t too bad and I got the point right away.
