Historia
Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

The plot makes no sense
Revisado: 01-06-25
There are at least five other significant plot holes that make the narrative feel overly contrived and unrealistic. Moreover, the twist involving Blank was glaringly obvious the moment it was mentioned that he had a wife, which removed any element of surprise. Overall, the plot seems rushed and underdeveloped, lacking the depth and logical consistency necessary for a compelling story.

There's no place like home for the holidays ... especially for Lesley Carver. Life in the big city just wasn't her jam and now she's back in Hickory Falls, working at the family diner and helping her mom after she took a tumble. Lesley longs to build a life here, working at the cafe, selling her handmade ornaments and ... er, apparently reviving her high school crush on her best friend’s older brother. Only one problem, her mom wants her to leave Hickory Falls far behind.

Underwhelmed by the storyline
Revisado: 12-24-24
Unfortunately, this book felt like it was missing a key ingredient, though I can’t quite pinpoint what it was—perhaps humor? While the characters showed potential, their personalities felt disjointed and underwhelming. The writing was solid, and the storyline had promise, but overall, it fell flat for me. I made it to chapter 13, hoping it would become more interesting, but sadly, it never did.
I will try to finish it in the future and if the story gets better I will revise my statement.

So much potential, but not executed well.
Revisado: 11-25-24
You know a book is not executed well when you listen to the credits and some of the characters are revealed. This was entirely too short to have so many characters. I see the potential but this was not executed well at all. I do NOT see myself reading this again, despite having several questions and not agreeing with them not addressing the parallel universes while somehow staying on one timeline.

Yes, it is a love story, but it shouldn’t be.
Revisado: 11-02-24
This was well written, but so inappropriate on several levels. So many cringeworthy moments and due to the world they lived in, it is an unfortunate plausible story. This is one Audible I do not plan to read again and definitely do not want to see a movie, but I do appreciate the content and the way the story was told from several perspectives. While the author wrapped up the story, they all need counseling. From each character’sview, they received closure, yet all involved still have healing and growth.
If they were truly healed, they would see the dysfunction in the love. Overall, the story ended perfectly imperfect.

Historia
Intelligence is usually seen as the ability to think and learn, but in a rapidly changing world, there's another set of cognitive skills that might matter more: the ability to rethink and unlearn. In our daily lives, too many of us favor the comfort of conviction over the discomfort of doubt. We listen to opinions that make us feel good, instead of ideas that make us think hard. We see disagreement as a threat to our egos, rather than an opportunity to learn.

Insightful, yet an opportunity to improve chapter
Revisado: 08-23-24
The book was insightful and gave a lot of positive input on different perspectives. I sincerely appreciated the encouragement to think differently. I did find chapter 10 lacking the right attention and focus because happiness, joy, and purpose are mutually exclusive. While there is opportunity for them to overlap they are not the same. I felt as though Adam Grant used them together without delineating the meaning. Thus, this chapter was rushed and lacked enough substance to be effective. Overall, great material but that chapter requires us all to "Think Again" on the terms.

Cliche and lack luster
Revisado: 08-06-24
The cliche characters were over the top. The storyline has been done before. Actually, the entire series seems like Deja vu. I sincerely enjoy romance, but there should be a genuine wow factor. I will see if I can get through another book, but I am underwhelmed.
