Don't judge a book by its cover (but Ben can)
Revisado: 12-04-21
It's hard to make it through the double talk in the first two chapters. The book attempts to gain favor with the Harry Potter generation then denounces them as lazy. The solution to Ben's personality woes *Spoiler Alert* converting to Mormonism.

Historia
You live in your dream house, but there's no mortgage. No alarm clock, no boss, no bills. No claims on the day's time other than what you choose. It is making more money before breakfast than you made for an entire week at your last job. It is a crazy expensive car parked in your garage, a victorious symbol that your dreams no longer sleep in fantasies, but are awake with reality.

Making money, yeah. Cut the rant though.

Good narration and subject coverage

This was a fantastic book. My only notes would be to dial back on the rants about fat people and to a lesser degree young people. After the first two or three they become really distracting and add nothing to the book other than length.

Historia
Ever wish you could be a little more extraordinary? A little happier? A little more in control of your life? Well, this is your blueprint for making it happen. It might sound crazy, but it all starts with quitting your 9-5. Jesse should know. He quit his job to join TechStars, a startup accelerator that helped him and his business partner build a multimillion-dollar company from the ground up. Then he wrote this book while lounging at the beach.

Recycled Guru Motivational-style advice
Revisado: 08-30-16
Would you try another book from Jesse Tevelow and/or Michael Pauley?
No I don't think I would.
What could Jesse Tevelow have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
He could not have used Neo from the Matrix as his spirit animal. I wish this book had been as inspirational to me as the Matrix Trilogy clearly was to him.
What aspect of Michael Pauley’s performance would you have changed?
I just think he could have taken the Mark Wahlberg tone down a couple of notches.
Was The Connection Algorithm: Take Risks, Defy the Status Quo, and Live Your Passions worth the listening time?
It was in the sense that I really wanted to listen to it after reading reviews so now I know.
Any additional comments?
Not all Authorpreneur books are created equally, but this one certainly doesn't stand out in a sea of this style of book in anyway other than being read by a male cast member from the Jersey Shore or maybe an arrogant Jean Shepherd.

Historia
Each year tens of thousands of students will, after years of hard work and enormous amounts of money, earn their PhDs. And each year only a small percentage of them will land jobs that justify and reward their investments. For every comfortably tenured professor or well-paid former academic, there are countless underpaid and overworked adjuncts and many more who simply give up in frustration. Karen Kelsky has made it her mission to help job seekers join the select few who get the most out of their PhDs.
