Historia
Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.

Nail-biting and Enchanting
Revisado: 04-04-25
This book's ending had me on the edge of my seat; it's SO GOOD!!! It has been years since I've read a book like that! Full of romance, action, and classic mythology, Feyre's journey continues as the High Lord of the Night Court comes to collect on his bargain they made under the Mountain...on her and Tamlin's wedding day! But as time goes by, Feyre learns there's more to Prythia and its courts, as well as the fae she sacrificed her life for.
Purely epic and fantastical, I am enthralled to read the 3rd installment.

Another Beloved Retelling
Revisado: 03-30-25
I liked this book, but like it even more halfway through it. A mixture of beloved fairytale such was Beauty and the Beast, Eros and Psyche, Cinderella, and East of the Sun and West of the Moon. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

The Story Behind the Eyes
Revisado: 03-11-25
Medusa, the famous stone-making Gorgon. Most people are introduced to her as the malevolent creature the Greek hero Perseus slays cleverly by looking at her reflection in a shield and then uses her head to rescue the princess sacrifice, Andromeda. But that is Hollywood taking liberties. They tend to leave out Perseus as merely an inexperienced boy who snuck up on the sleeping Gorgon and originally sought Medusa and her sisters to find a way to save his mother from an unwanted marriage.
Natalie Haynes takes the beloved Classic and has her readers see the story through the eyes of all those connected to this myth, making Perseus the bystander while Medusa and Athene take the lead. Essentially, this is another great read from Haynes, and I look forward to adding more of her works to my Mythology collection on my shelves.

Few writers today have reshaped our view of the ancient Greek myths more than revered bestselling author Natalie Haynes. Divine Might is a female-centered look at Olympus and the Furies, focusing on the goddesses whose prowess, passions, jealousies, and desires rival those of their male kin.

The Perspective of the God—desses
Revisado: 03-05-25
Another observation of Greci-Roman Mythology, Natalie Haynes focuses on the goddesses that make prominent impacts in mythology. To expand their importance and impactness, Haynes selects the stories the goddesses are either known for or were known supporters of famous Hreek or Roman heroes.
Great analysis of the Greek female dieties.

A Recap with Extra Details
Revisado: 02-22-25
In short, this is a recap of JLA's works from the Blood and Ash Series (up to Book 5, A Soul of Ash and Blood) and the Fire and Flesh Series (up to A Fire in the Flesh). Extra scenes from both series are included, along with some of Miss Willa's escapades.
I recommend finishing this before starting Born of Blood and Ash (Book 4 of the Fire and Flesh Series)

Futuristic Mythology
Revisado: 02-15-25
Nnedi Okorafor has created an amazing world in this dystopian piece of work, mixing West African Myth and Africanfuturism.
I could not stop listening to this hypnotic piece of work, and I look forward to reading more of Okorafor's works. 5 out of 5; one of the bests reads thus far this year for me.

A continuation of the Godkissed Bride Series, this second installment holds its ground. Great pacing, sultry spiciness, and satisfying revelations. The ending is a first for me, so I'm uncertain of how to feel about it, but I can say I look forward to reading the third book.

Godiva-Inspired
Revisado: 01-08-25
Just like JLA, Evie Marceau has captured my Fantasy-loving soul with this beautifully written story. She also had me on the edge of my seat and guessing so much about what would happen next that I finished this work in less than two days! Now that's a great writer!
Loosely based on the tale of Lady Godiva and sprinkled with hints of Roman mythology (as well as others), this story follows a young girl tasked by her future husband to ride from her home village to his kingdom with nothing but her hair protecting her naked body. Traveling with his most trusted guard, Sabine must make this journey in 21 days, but of course, challenges arise—both expected and unexpected.
Great recommendation for JLA and Maas fans. It has spice in it, but it is well-written and intriguing.

A Well-Paced Introduction

I merely listened/read this to have something to read while traveling, and it turned out quite well. Feels like a D&D/Sherlock Holmes Mystery with a game similar to Gwent and Chess in the background. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. A great find for a new year.

A Great Prequel...
Revisado: 01-03-25
...to an end. JLA did a great job creating the BAA and FAF series. This final book of the Flesh and Fire series tied up the end of the history that led to the Blood and Ash storyline, and I love how it keeps the reader guessing and feeling doubt, even though it is known that the outcome will be in the protagonists' favor. Great book. Can't wait to read BAA #6.
