Historia
A decade-old animosity is the only thing Liam Davies and Zoe Valentine have in common. Until their mutual best friends pass away and they’re appointed co-guardians of the trusting couple’s precocious toddler, Mira. Liam is committed only to professional football. Relationship-wise, he’s even better at defense. Still wrestling with a tough childhood, he’s not cut out to be a father. Why his late best buddy believed in him, Liam has no idea.

All the sweetness
Revisado: 07-18-24
You know how some books are just all the vibes you need when you read them? This is one of those for me.
I listened to this narrated by one of my absolute tippy top favorite narrator pairings, @ms_brentmoor and @shaneeastreads. You know going in the performances will be exceptional and that certainly held true with this story. I want to highlight how incredible Samantha Brentmoor is with Mira’s sweet little girl voice as well as Liam’s grouchy, gruff, British masculine voice. She is a star! And as always, Shane East excels in the same grouchy, gruff, secretly tender voice.
So, this story has such a sad start. Mira’s parents are Liam and Zoe’s best friends and die in a car crash. They have left Mira’s care to be split between Liam and Zoe. Zoe is all in from the get-go, but Liam has some serious reservations based in his past. Of course, he does eventually figure out he’s meant to be involved in Mira’s (and Zoe’s) life. He moves in next door and here we have that delectable forced proximity.
Their care for Mira and subsequent closeness is so sweet. They’re funny and teasing and the chemistry is just. right. there. Is there anything better than a yearning alphahole?
I’m such a fan of everything @karla_sorenson writes and I just realized I missed the first one in this series, so off I go to listen to that.
I loved this book and I think you will too. ♥️♥️♥️

Historia
When a very public breakup becomes a PR nightmare for Ian Chase's team, he hopes to focus on his game, but that suddenly seem less likely than a hat trick. With his career and the team’s image in jeopardy, Ian is surprised to find a solution through none other than Delilah Baker, his best friend and teammate's little sister…who isn’t so little anymore.

Sweet and steamy
Revisado: 07-12-24
Sweetness abounds! What a couple of sweethearts we have in Delilah and Ian! They are incredibly darling and nicely spicy.
Ian Chase is back home after six years playing hockey for a team in Calgary, but his undeserved bad reputation (and the reason he had to flee the city) is still an issue. Delilah Baker’s local television baking show is dropping in the ratings. Oh! What if she gets her brother’s hockey teammate to come on the show to boost ratings? Surprise! The teammate is Ian whom she’d had a teenage crush on for years.
Now they’re both firmly in their hot adult years and the chemistry is undeniable. So, they don’t. Deny it. No. They accept their chemistry and it’s a lesson in friction causing fires. I think you know where the fire is located.
Narrated by Samantha Summers and Zachary Webber, this sweet and spicy story is unstoppable. Like, I literally did not want to stop listening. I especially loved Samantha’s take on Delilah’s brother Jack’s voice. Actually, both of them made Jack come to life and he is dreamy and funny and I wonder if Lana would write a book about him. Oh and Zachary’s whispering in a particularly steamy shower scene. Woo boy! 🫠🫠🫠 And I didn’t even mention Ian’s obsession with hearing Lilah call out his name. 🥵 One more thing: excellent use of the word “brat”.

Historia
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan.

Slowburn sweetness
Revisado: 01-02-24
Oh golly. Has there ever been a sweeter cinnamon roll than Jacob Maddox? Doubtful. He’s so careful and considerate and secretly funny.
This slow burn, friends-to-lovers romance is exactly how I wanted to start 2024.
Briana has been traumatized by betrayal and things in her life have her hanging by a very thin thread. When Jacob enters her life, she is not in a place to recognize his worth. Until she does.
There are these beautiful cinnamon rolls out there. I hope everyone is fortunate enough to find them.
Also, “in this economy?” IYKYK.
I listened to this performed by Kyla Garcia and Zachary Webber. There was one particular chapter, I thought Kyla was trying to wring every tear out of my body. I needed to rehydrate after that. So, so good.

Historia
Since the Final War, I’ve been doing just fine. I have a lovely cave, a darling vegetable patch, forest views . . . and if loneliness sometimes squeezes my aching heart, well, my books have always kept me company. That is, until a pack of hunters chase me from my home and right into the arms of several rather large, rather brutish ex-Army Rangers. And those brutes have the nerve to make me the rudest offer I’ve ever heard. Their protection—for my body.

Steamy, post-apocalyptic why choose?
Revisado: 11-27-23
I knew this was going to have a cliffhanger, but I still wasn’t prepared. Gird your loins going in, preciouses.
ALL of these narrators are exceptional. @j.f.harding is new to me, but I can hear why he’s a part of this star cast.
My bestie, Kelly, and I have always been suckers for post-apocalyptic drama. (Spoiler alert: people are the worst.) This book has the drama, the romance, a whole lot of spicy times, and is well-written to boot.
Go on now, darlin’. Go get you a copy and listen immediately.
