Historia
When The Sandman, also known as Lord Morpheus - the immortal king of dreams, stories and the imagination - is pulled from his realm and imprisoned on Earth by a nefarious cult, he languishes for decades before finally escaping. Once free, he must retrieve the three “tools” that will restore his power and help him to rebuild his dominion, which has deteriorated in his absence.

Story is dark and inconsistent
Revisado: 05-01-22
Audio and performance is well done - although a few too many repeats of the same musical interruption.
The story jumps around. Sometimes it is in the horror and macabre genre which isn't for me - it seems to be gratuitous and doesn't add to the story.
I won't be finishing this one.

An inspiring work. It took me a while to warm to Mel Robbins but the call to action and to enjoy life was powerful.

Historia
They are outcasts. Hal, Stig, and the others - they are the boys the others want no part of. Skandians, as any reader of Ranger's Apprentice could tell you, are known for their size and strength. Not these boys. Yet that doesn't mean they don't have skills. And courage - which they will need every ounce of to do battle at sea against the other bands, the Wolves and the Sharks, in the ultimate race. The icy waters make for a treacherous playing field - especially when not everyone thinks of it as playing.

Historia
Of especially naughty children, it is sometimes said: “They must have been raised by wolves.” The Incorrigible children actually were. Discovered in the forests of Ashton Place, the Incorrigibles are no ordinary children: Alexander keeps his siblings in line with gentle nips; Cassiopeia has a bark that is (usually) worse than her bite; and Beowulf is alarmingly adept at chasing squirrels.

Great story, narrator excellent!
Revisado: 01-22-15
What made the experience of listening to The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place the most enjoyable?
Katherine Kellgren was brilliant in bringing these quirky characters to life.
What other book might you compare The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place to and why?
Not sure, something about interesting / quirky orphaned children perhaps?
What does Katherine Kellgren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
We could write a book about that ... She was brilliant!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes definitely. It was always a rush to turn it back on when we got into the car.
Any additional comments?
Thoroughly enjoyed by 2 parents and 7 year old son.

Revisado: 05-10-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Clarice Bean, Utterly Me to be better than the print version?
It must be! The voices and reading are wonderfully entertaining.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Clarice of course.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I wouldn't make a film of the book. I'd just listen to this book again.
Any additional comments?
A perfect family listen. We have loved this and listened multiple times on car journeys. It looks "girlish" but our son has loved it when he was 6, 7 and now 8.
Very funny.

Historia
Pongo and Missis Pongo are a pair of Dalmatians who live with the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Dearly and their two nannies. Mr. Dearly is a "financial wizard" who has been granted life-long tax exemption and lent a house on the Outer Circle in Regent's Park in return for wiping out the government debt. The dogs consider the humans their pets, but allow the humans to think that they are the owners. Missis gives birth to a litter of 15 puppies.

A great family listen
Revisado: 05-10-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Hundred and One Dalmatians to be better than the print version?
We haven't read the print version. I am sure it would be a good book to read aloud, but I don't think I could match the narrator here!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The dogs all helping each other was lovely. The older puppies pulling the smaller ones in a cart. The nightly howling spreading the news around the dog world.
Any additional comments?
A great listen on a car trip with our 8 year old son. Old fashioned, sweet natured adventure which I am sure we would happily listen to again (even if our son was not with us!)

What did you like best about this story?
A great story while explaining the time and context of South African history. The boxing matches were enthralling.
Have you listened to any of Humphrey Bower’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to Humphrey Bower before but I'd be happy to listen again. I am an Australian living in South Africa, so his voice was very easy for me to listen to! His timing, accents and voices were very good.

Droning narrator
Revisado: 05-10-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The narrator was dull and droning. We tried twice to listen to this as a family for 30 mins to an hour each time. Both times parents and child got bored quickly. I can't really judge the story (which I realise is a classic) as we couldn't maintain interest past the narrator. Each character sounded the same and missed the distinct personalities and interest I am sure they could have offered.
Would you be willing to try another one of Ralph Cosham’s performances?
No. I see other reviewers like his performances.
I managed to get through Watership Down (a great story!) but I lost my family along the way to the deep drone of Ralph Cosham.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment. I don't really know what the story would offer with a different reader.
