Historia
Austen wrote, 'I am going to take a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like' and thus introduces the handsome, clever, rich - and flawed, Emma Woodhouse. Emma is perfectly content with her life and sees no need for either love or marriage; nothing however delights her more than matchmaking her fellow residents of Highbury. But when she ignores the warnings of her good friend Mr. Knightley and attempts to arrange a suitable match for her protegee Harriet Smith, her carefully laid plans soon unravel and have consequences that she never expected.

Background sound effects annoying
Revisado: 04-13-21
I do not need crying babies to know I am in the nursery. Nor do clomping footsteps enhance the conversation on a walk. I could not get through it.

Historia
It's been a long, rainy summer for Goldy Schulz, who is engaged in planning wedding receptions for what seems to be all of Aspen Meadow. It's bad enough that Billie Attenborough, the bride from hell, wants to move the location to the Gold Gulch Spa just a scant two days before tying the knot to her doctor fiance. Then Doc Finn, best friend of Goldy's godfather Jack, is killed when his car tumbles into a ravine. But Jack thinks Doc was murdered because of research he was doing at the spa....

Music?
Revisado: 03-14-20
The music at the ends and beginnings of chapters was very annoying. Especially at the beginning of chapters as the narration would begin with the music
still playing.

Background music a giant distraction
Revisado: 12-02-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
This just wasn't a story for me. Yes, I know this is a King story and would be dark, but none of the characters were ones to spend time with; no redeeming qualities to be found.
What was most disappointing about Stephen King’s story?
Relatively new to King, this being the third book I've listened to. I loved the first two and was very surprised by the ugliness of this story.
What didn’t you like about James Woods’s performance?
Mr. Woods was fine; the music swelling at the "scary" parts to make sure we knew it was scary was distracting and made hearing the narrative difficult.
