Historia
From humble beginnings in rural Tennessee to his heroic death defending the Alamo, frontiersman, adventurer, and politician David Davy Crockett embodies the spirit and ideals of the national character. Even during his lifetime, tales of the sharpshooting, skilled woodsman were - to his delight - told, retold, and elaborated on. As a US congressman, the former Creek War militiaman steadfastly opposed President Andrew Jackson's Indian Removal Act.

educating or not
Revisado: 11-03-20
listen ability was fantastic. The narrator was awesome and I will look for more books by him. I didn't really know a whole bunch of about David Crockett and I'm not sure I really learned a lot about him except that he was a political man. Very easy to listen to what I read it again? Possibly but it would only be to hear the narrator's voice.

Historia
Acclaimed actress Claire Danes burnishes an epic story of heroes, gods, and monsters in a groundbreaking translation of The Odyssey, the first great adventure story in the Western literary tradition. When the wily warrior-king Odysseus sets off for home after the Trojan War, he doesn’t realize this simple undertaking will become a perilous journey of 10 years. Beset at every turn, he encounters obstacles, detours, and temptations—both supernatural and human—while his wife Penelope fends off would-be suitors desperate to take the throne.

a wonderfully odd listening experience
Revisado: 10-23-20
let me start by saying, the introduction needs to have a spoiler headline to it. I read this book 20+ years ago and had an idea what was going to happen. Although I knew they the results I still did not want to here them being said in the introduction. I advise against listening to the introduction if you have never read this book.
I found this interpretation to get a little clunky at the end. Utilizing old world terminology with new world terminology really gave it an odd feel.
The performance of Claire Daines was great. Her voice made this poem easy to listen to from beginning to end. I would look for more books with her narrating.
Overall, I enjoyed listening to this wonderful story.
