I love Sherlock Holmes, but Charlton Griffin doesn't do the stories justice. Though it's not a terrible narration, there are times where you can tell he misses the mood of the delivery.

all in all, still enjoyable.

Still funny, hundreds of years later.

My favorite line:
"Get you gone, you dwarf,
You minimus of hindering knotgrass made,
You bead, you acorn! "

haha. You acorn..

I've always had trouble following Shakespeare plays in text. It's difficult for me to identify the tone of the scene, and the story becomes hard to follow.

Listening to these voice actors solves that problem. It's easy to follow the story when the lines are being delivered with the correct emotion.

That being said, The Tempest is a bit romantic for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Ian McKellen could literally read a dictionary to me and I would like it.

Great story and immaculate narration.
I think watching the movie beforehand makes the some of the more improbable scenes from the book easier to imagine.
Overall, a great experience. I just wish it was longer.

Fear the Sky is a decent book. I believe true Sci-Fi fans would proudly claim it is a great book, and I would not disagree. I'm just not as into Sci-Fi as I thought I was. Even so, the experience was quite enjoyable.

Though I wasn't the biggest fan of the story, I have to give props to R.C. Bray. I find myself daydreaming to his voice, and the way he makes each character so unique and distinguishable is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is an almost startling realization when I remember that each actor does not have their of voice. He is literally the best narrator I have heard on Audible. My only complaint is that he doesn't narrate more.

An incredibly deep, yet remarkably familiar, story that leaves you feeling a bit wiser with every turn. Richard Poe masterfully gives each character a distinguishable persona and makes you forget you aren't actually watching a movie.

Fahrenheit 451 Audiolibro Por Ray Bradbury arte de portada

Narrator makes everyone sounds ridiculously stupid

I believe that in all great dystopian novels (1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451), there is a terrifying familiarity between our world and the dystopia. Not to say we live in such a society, but the authors of these great stories (and as with all great stories) do an outstanding job of making their visions feel somewhat realistic. The reader is pulled into the world by the connections he/she makes to the characters, their emotions and their surroundings.

Tim Robbins destroys this connection by making every character in Fahrenheit 451, save the main protagonist, sound like an idiot. He flaunts the speech of every side character as if they were inferior beings, or all dropped on the head as children. Everyone in Robbin's world is a moron, and it shatters the idea that this dystopia could potentially be our world.

In the original novel, without the stupid voice of Robbins, you feel a sense of dread when the side characters are oblivious to the crimes they commit. In Robbin's world, you feel a sense of slapstick comedy, and the theater is ruined.

I loved the book when read, but I suggest that anyone looking for a good listen find another narrator.

Voice actors don't match the characters

The actors sound constantly out of breath and stumbling, like overly dramatic teenagers or Michael Cera. Not at all fitting for the figures King MacBeth and Banquo. Completely ruins the story hearing their uneven breaths and insecure delivery.

Especially after listening to the Tempest, narrated by Ian McKellen, this audio book sounds completely amateur .

Couldn't make it past the first thirty minutes.
