I loved this book and the entire series!! The character development was very well done and the plot line was very enjoyable. This is my go to series to gift to my kids friends (and I tell the parents they will enjoy it too).

Historia
David Fajgenbaum, a former Georgetown quarterback, was nicknamed the Beast in medical school, where he was also known for his unmatched mental stamina. But things changed dramatically when he began suffering from inexplicable fatigue. In a matter of weeks, his organs were failing and he was read his last rites. Doctors were baffled by his condition, which they had yet to even diagnose. Floating in and out of consciousness, Fajgenbaum prayed for a second chance, the equivalent of a dramatic play to second the game into overtime.

Engaging Read
Revisado: 02-20-21
I listened to this book and found it fascinating. It was horrible to hear of his disease, but also very enlightening. Since the author read his own book, I felt as though I was with him while he told his story. It was inviting and engaging. This book has left my mind reeling with thoughts about iMCD and other orphaned diseases out there. Thank you for spreading the word and sharing your story.

A must read book
Revisado: 02-15-21
This book was amazing! I couldn't stop listening!! I loved it and recommend it! I found that I would try to guess what would happen next, but the story rarely went as I was anticipating. I have not read the first book as my son is reading it, but this book was easy to follow even though it was the second in the series.
The narration was well done. Mr. Fife's voice was clear and he enunciated words well. I enjoyed how he helped bring the story to life with wonderful inflection and emotion in his voice.
I would highly recommend reading this book to anyone at any age. I am extremely careful with my elementary aged son, but this was fun enough that I think he will enjoy it without any elaborate details of the violence so I will be comfortable letting him listen to it. The book was also developed enough that it thoroughly kept my attention and I am now eager to read more of Mrs. Schmidt's work.
