A Tool I Will Always Revisit
Revisado: 02-17-25
As a writer, it can be hard to stay motivated and optimistic. I found The Happy Writer podcast about a year ago and it changed the way I viewed writing. I actually cried listening to some of the struggles that very successful writers had, that I myself faced. It showed me that I can make it through if I just remember why I started this journey to begin with: I love to write. I found that I could truly say, "It did," everytime Marissa ended her podcast with "I hope this made you a little bit happier."
Marissa's bubbly optimism is something truly inspirational in itself, from such a vetted and well loved author. I was ecstatic to learn she was making a craft book, and the title is so fitting. I listened to it all the way through, and I know I will be revisiting certain parts at the different stages of my writing journey. I already started implementing some of her tips as soon as I heard them, such as a Some Day list, and only picking 2-3 things to accomplish per day. I am so thankful to authors like Marissa who provide tools like this with no intention other than to help other writers write. I truly smiled at the end of the book, and Marissa will forever be on my "immediate buy" list.

This story is gorgeous with captivating characters and rich metaphores. The descriptions really make you feel like you can see what exactly is happening in the book. If you are a fan of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid then this book might be for you!

A Cute Tale of Young Love and Magic!
Revisado: 05-09-24
This was such a cute story about a high-school boy navigating his way through young love, fitting in, and finding time for his DnD adventures with a bit of possibly real magic sprinkled in!
I loved the immersive effects used for the DnD campaign scenes. It was so fun to listen to; I could have listened to an entire book of just the campaign! The special sound effects and music really took those scenes to the next level.
My favorite quote has to be about the snail and his gift of a "tiny healing elixir." I audibly squealed over the cuteness.
Thank you for another captivating read Marissa Meyer!

New Fan!
Revisado: 05-01-24
I am a stay-at-home mom/part-time student/aspiring author/book lover. I am a huge fan of your books and I have just started listening to you podcast! Your 10 tips for life balance episode was fabtastaic! It feels like there's so much stuff on my plate with no end in sight and it is so difficult to juggle life and stay on track with schooling, writing, and making sure I am attentive to my almost 2 year old. The tip of looking at life in weeks instead of days and picking just 2-3 things from my to-do list each day is most definitely going to be implemented immediately!
I have just recently found your podcast but you now have a new listener! I look forward to more!

An Intriguiging Tale of an Intriguiging Man
Revisado: 03-29-24
While I'm positive I am not the only one, it was eye-opening to find how much I could relate to so many aspects of a person's life that I have long admired. When he spoke of fears as a child I was shoked because I had a very similar experience as a child that still follows me (though not as intensely) to this day. Coupled with the OCD and being labeled as "too much" I found comfort in knowing someone so grand has felt the same as me and so many others.
I have been a fan of Black Veil Brides since I was 12, some 14 years ago, and they remain my favorite band to this day. Andy and BVB have been an inspiration to me with their music from a young age, and as I have grown in life his music has continued to resonate with me. I now see why. His drive and determination have always been admirable, but this window into his life that he has offered the world shows a new meaning to the word. As I find myself struggling sometimes to stay inspired in my own art form I have just recently allowed myself to indulge, the encouraging words of a long time idol have really struck home.
While you will probably never read this, Andy, I hope you, your family, and friends live long, happy and creatively-filled lives. Thank you for what you and BVB have done for the music industry, but even more, what you have done for fans like me.
"But it's because when the world outside didn't want me, I built myself into something I could be proud of."
