Rita, Rita, Rita - you have to love her.

Rita has the most quirky characters. They are lovable and flawed. Real.

This was a little different. More focused on the two main characters. The townsfolk were still fun and quirky though!

And although it seems like a Hollywood book … it is more of a twist. If you are a Rita Potter fan you expect the twist.

The main characters were lovely in their own way. It also approaches some mental difficulties.

The journey is lovely. The romance is well paced.

Rita books make me happy. Even when they aren’t happy at times … there is always a quirky person or a funny moment or an unlikely pair. And she never forgets her characters are human. They are always loving and flawed.

Gaps. Time.

I can’t wait for the next Rita on audiobook. And I love that she found her narrator that she loves and feels does her books justice. Cheers to that!

Beautifully Flawed Humans

The characters are beautifully flawed. And that is reality. People are beautifully flawed and I love realism. This is a beautiful love story of love and waiting for the one you love under the most unusual circumstances.

It is unique and special and touching. What would you do for your family? What would you do for love? Why is money discrepancy in the US so polarized? Why? Why are people all not truly equal in all ways in this over privileged country with some people living in tent cities on the streets? (No - that isn’t in the book - it just should make you think.)

Rita Potter delivers another humanitarian story of love and crisis and the wealth divide. Beautifully narrated but you miss the lovely narrator because of the raw tension of the marvelous book.

Low spice. Angst medium high. No sexual abuse.

Highly recommended.

Sweet

Destination Bedding is mostly lighthearted and an easy read. Beyond Kate and her love interest from the past (and maybe the future) we have the old aunt with classic spunkiness.

Kate has to be at her sister’s wedding but her family dynamics are less than ideal. Her mother is demanding. Her sister is dismissive. She slept with one of the bridesmaids (way in the past). And the worst … the groom is her old very very serious boyfriend. Upside! She had to share a room with an old aunt who was hilarious, I thought. Sweet sapphic romance.

But I don’t care, as long as Kate narrates the next one. Best book I have heard yet, especially the narrator!

I would not recommend the book. To get through it took me rewinding constantly ... many times thinking of just deleting. It is jumbled and the narration probably made it much worse than it is. The surprise ending might be a surprise ... but not worth it. Not close.
