Historia
November 1911. Lady Emily Hardcastle is celebrating her birthday by seeing a play at the Duke’s Theatre in Bristol with her maid and confidante, the inimitable Flo. Act One is a triumph. Then Act Two opens with a body on stage—a real one. One of the cast has been brutally murdered during the interval. When other matters get in the way of Inspector Sunderland overseeing the case himself, he asks the ever-resourceful Lady H to keep a watchful eye on the suspects—and his police colleagues.

Too much recipe, not enough mystery
Revisado: 03-22-22
I don’t mind recipes or cooking as part of the theme, but I never read a mystery for recipes. I love this series, but I have to agree with others that this is disappointing. It is worth a listen if you want to follow the characters, but Will get the next at the library again. I had to skip to the next chapter routinely you skip the recipes. It was half the chapter sometimes. So, I listened to a brief mystery about half the length of the book.

Short. Intense. Sweet.
Revisado: 12-31-21
This is a lovely short story with several quite intense themes. Yes it is wartime, but what an incredible foil to show us just how special are some of these events- perhaps they are even Christmas miracles? The resolutions to serious problems feel truly miraculous amidst the bombing of London. Upon reading other reviews, I think not everyone perceives this. I found the ending tight, wrapping this remarkable tale up in a Christmas bow, leaving us on a hopeful note as we witness remarkable community and kindness. Just remember this is a short story, not a novel.

Historia
Eleanor, the charming manager of a cozy tea shop, enjoys the transportive ritual of making a cup of Masala Chai tea, reminisces about the tea's origins, and delights in the beauty of her quaint English village during the holidays. Bedtime stories are narrated by the world's most celebrated voices and written with no beginning, middle, or end so you don't stay up to hear what happens next. They're interesting enough to give your mind something to focus on, but delivered in a way that encourages sleep.

Historia
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

I actually really love the narration. It fits the mood quite well. We listened to this as a family when my kids were young, and now we are listening again with my niece and nephew.
