The story moved along so slow. The same things happening over and over again. The ghost DJ was obnoxious and dumb, it got irritating halfway through the book, it read more like a children’s book. Overall, the first book was better, this second book was much more of the same, it was boring and too whimsical.

Boring!

I gave it my best shot. I  sat through six hours of this book.  I wasn’t sure if it was a mix between Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. I had to go back and check the age group because I felt as if I was reading a teen book at times . I know this has rave reviews, but dragon fantasy was just boring and nothing but fighting dragons at least for the first six hours. I tried to get through it, but I just couldn’t. I wanted to know what the ending hype was all about, so I fast forwarded to the last paragraph, wasn’t impressed! I give this a two stars at best in all categories.

Fantastic!

This story is amazing! Such a great ending to a beautiful series of books. Thank you to the authors for finishing the story of Pa Salt. Everything ties in beautifully and all questions are answered from every book. Absolutely a wonderful book and must read if you have read any of the previous books in the series. The story takes you on different journeys and makes you feel part of the story as if you were there with the characters. This would be a wonderful movie, I would love to see it come to life!

Captivating

The story takes you back in time, so realistically that you can picture yourself in that time period. Lovely story with some twists at the end.
Have read all of Kate Morton’s books and looking forward to the next.

Heartfelt Story

This was a heartfelt, feel good story. Somewhat different than the authors traditional stories. But if you want something easy and feel good kind of a book, this would be it. A little predictable, but nonetheless, a lovely story.

Awful ~ Nothing Happens!

What a disappointment! Not sure why this book shows 5 stars in every category, when clearly the reviews don’t reflect that. Absolutely nothing happens in this book. So dreadfully boring! No advancement of any kind with any of the characters, too many unnecessary details. There was no story line of any kind. Would have been nice to reveal more history between Jack and Frank Randall which is where I think the book was headed but no, that came to a complete holt! The book was a waste of time. I loved the outlander series so much and the excitement of past and present and how DG would tie it all together, but this is lost! Would be exciting if Jamie can travel … but I don’t see that happening. I’m done with this series. Completely lost my interest.

Excellent

If you love history, especially America history, this book is excellent. The story of Jefferson and his daughter is a beautiful portrayal of father and daughter love and loyalty. It was beautifully told, and I love that it’s Mostly based on factual information. You feel as if you were back in time.

Easy read

I waited so long for this second book! Took just 3 days to read and that’s only because I had other things to do. The story was ok, very predictable and not as good as the first. Lots of the same scenarios as the first book. Some of it was a bit cheesy, but overall it was what you would expect for a second book. Its if as it was a remake of the first, just added a couple more storylines. But overall enjoyed it.

This book was easy to listen to and the narrators were great, I truly enjoyed it. It was a good escape from real life - takes you back in time and gives you a bit of history.
