Eidolon needs a Model on the Tabletop
Revisado: 10-27-24
It’s seems kind of obvious, Eidolon has been in the setting from the start and this book proves that with a little bit of focus you can bring a character to life. I think the writer perfectly captured what Eidolon should be to the Emperor’s Children. A force that directs the excesses of the legion as he desires and following his own arrogant path. GW please give him a model.

Historia
Once, the Galaspar System suffered under the cruel regime of the Order. Billions of people toiled endlessly to enrich their masters, enduring short lives of poverty, squalor and fear. But Galaspar’s sins did not go unnoticed by the Imperium, and so Death itself sentenced the Order to annihilation. Mortarion, newly uplifted to commander of the Death Guard, descended upon the world, and with him came a slaughter of untold proportions. The sheer brutality of Mortarion’s campaign left the Imperium appalled.

Great Conquest Story
Revisado: 09-19-22
I had a lot of fun with this one. It showed Mortarion's resolve and also some of his relationship with his sons. The details of Galaspar's society painted a pretty good image of the life of the slaves and Comptrollers which made for an great background. Honestly, it seems Mortarion was destined to serve Nurgle from the start.

Historia
Legends abound of the glorious - or infamous - deeds of the emperor's sons. Yet almost nothing is known of Alpharius, the most mysterious of them all, for the lord of the Alpha Legion is unparalleled in the art of obfuscation. Such are his gifts of secrecy and deceit that even his rediscovery has remained an enigma - until now. But when the tale comes from the serpent’s mouth, where do the lies end and the truth begin?

That’s a lot of revelations
Revisado: 04-18-21
I know with the alpha legion everything is supposed to be a lie but when it comes to the writers putting something to paper, I figure it’s about as truth as it gets. A lot of info in this one. I think this book is informative about Alpharious as one will get for the next long while.

Historia
Kept alive and imprisoned for 10 thousand years, Luther is the curse and the salvation of the Dark Angels made manifest. None are so close to the heart and history of the Chapter as the man that embodies all that was great about the First Legion and all that is shameful about the Dark Angels. In his story is writ the tale of the Horus Heresy and the fall from Enlightenment in a single long life. Glory, honour, pride, shame and betrayal weave a tapestry of truth and lies that the Supreme Grand Masters of the Dark Angels have sought to understand and unbind across 10 bloody millennia.

Outsiders view of the Dark Angels
Revisado: 04-14-21
Very insightful on how people in the 50k universe become sorcerers. It also showed a wonderful snippet of the dark angels revolution over ten millennium from an outside perspective (so to speak). I do feel like this should have a second part. Seems weird where it ended though I understand.

Good story, okay Voice acting
Revisado: 02-20-21
The story itself is good. It pushes the narrative forward and expands our view of the necrons which is a welcome addition to the lore. We get a deeper understanding of the minds of the necrons who still have the capacity to think. The problem though is the voice actor doesn’t fit. He is very animated and I have no doubt he could tell a human only story perfectly or maybe be primary narrator but when it comes to voicing necrons and space marines, he fails to capture their essence. Deeper voices, even if auto tuned would be preferable.

John French
Revisado: 05-27-19
I have been a fan of John French ever since I read "Tallarn". He stays very true to the material, while still loving his climactic scenes. This book was very much a stage setter for the coming series but that is what book one should be. We got a descriptive look at all of Dorn's system defenses finally tested like we have all wanted. There was also a nice bit of side plot that has you thinking back to where the entire Horus Hersey Began.
Johnathan Keeble really was the right guy to pick to narrate a 40k world.

Emotion in a Warhammer book
Revisado: 05-14-18
It constantly amazes me that a story about a universe of war can envoys such a deep level of emotion. The characters feelings and the timing in this book are phenomenal.
