Jack Kernigan is having a bad day...a bad year...a bad life. After being booted out of MIT, he’s back in his Ohio hometown, working for the family business, facing a life of mediocrity. Then one day, out on a delivery, his truck hits...something. Something big...something furry...something invisible. And, it turns out, something not of this Earth. Fate can play funny tricks. Which is why Jack suddenly finds himself the planet’s best hope to unravel a conspiracy of galactic proportions that could spell the end of the human race.

What politics
Revisado: 10-01-22
I guess those who complain about politics that doesn’t agree with theirs must think politics don’t exist in the future .
They would probably be easily duped into being collaborators against the planet .
I found the book to be enjoyable and the narrator very good.

Historia
Allander Atlasia is an infamous psychopath whose heinous crimes have earned him a lifetime stay at the Tower, the world's most extreme maximum-security prison. But after a brilliant and brutal escape, the criminal mastermind begins a killing spree that is intensely personal. Jade Marlow is an ex-FBI profiler and tracker whose fearlessness is only surpassed by the severity of his own inner demons. With a record of irrational behavior and a genius for putting himself into the mind of a criminal predator, he may be the one man diabolical enough to catch Atlasia.

What a protagonist?
Revisado: 01-03-20
The only crime novel where I wanted the bad guy to kill the protagonist as soon as possible preferably in a horrific manner.
I couldn’t finish it.

Opportunity Lost
Revisado: 03-25-18
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Why do publishers indulge narcissistic authors who think they can narrate better than a professional just because they wrote the book? Think again. This narration is wretched.
I couldn't make it through the book because of it.
However, the story was interesting.
If you’ve listened to books by Jeremy Scott before, how does this one compare?
This was my first one.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jeremy Scott?
Pretty much any professional who doesn't sound like they are running the recording tape at double speed.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Assuming Hollywood doesn't ruin it, this would be a good movie about how the disabled have the potential to thrive and succeed even in unlikely circumstances.

Historia
One Saturday night in Las Vegas, 12-year-old Newell Ewing goes out with a friend and doesn't come home. In the aftermath of his disappearance, his mother, Lorraine, makes daily pilgrimages to her son's room and tortures herself with memories. Equally distraught, the boy's father, Lincoln, finds himself wanting to comfort his wife even as he yearns for solace, a loving touch, any kind of intimacy.

Poor Ending
Revisado: 02-08-08
As usual authors these days spending years creating and developing characters and only what seems like a few minutes writing the ending. The characters and Las Vegas details are rich and engrossing as was the narration. But I would have very much enjoyed following Newell as he disappears into the desert. Unfortunately the book abuptly ends leaving everyone hanging. Perhaps a sequel in seven more years.

Historia
As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree trunk in terror, wearing blood-filled sneakers, and unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours. Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret.

Wasted 10 Extra Hours
Revisado: 12-22-07
Since the entire premise of the book concerning what happened in the woods long ago remains totally unexplained and unresolved there was really no point of it being included in the book. The book should have been shortened by half and focused entirely on the present day murder.
