I honestly can’t wait for each new episode. Been listening for over two years and find this podcast the most informative for college admissions. As a parent with one in high school and one in college, I relate to and appreciate the perspectives shared. All the co-hosts are incredibly knowledgeable and down to earth. As a part-time academic counselor and CBO volunteer as well, I find this podcast keeps me up to date on current admission trends and getting to hear them straight from college-side admissions folks is incredibly valuable. Above all, I highly respect the values this podcast instills in making college information accessible and emphasizing fit over rankings for each individual student. It brings me hope in the crazy world of college admissions, and often several chuckles too. Thank you, YCBK, for all that you have done and continue to do. (Bonus note to new listeners: Go to the YCBK website and search for college spotlights and interviews. So much good stuff is here.)

I just have to say thank you to Audible for offering this as a free January listen. I don’t know that I would have downloaded it otherwise, since I’m super picky about how to spend my monthly credits. But this listen is life changing for me as parent of a teen daughter with anxiety. I am using the practice of self-compassion myself and slowly introducing it to her. I think too many of us are incredibly hard on ourselves as a result of today’s performance expectations, and add to it the pressure of high school success for college admissions and no wonder teen anxiety and depression are on the rise. Parents need to first model and then teach how mistakes are part of life and it’s ok. This audio course is a much needed first step toward this effort. (And it was free!!!)
