A Slow start at best....then the story tapers off

The MC really disappointed me

This story was not terrible, but I also would not call it great. The MC is presented as being intelligent but seems to always make the idiotic decision. I was constantly wondering how someone who had their upbringing and experiences, could be so naive and foolish throughout the book. Especially near the end of story. I was absolutely disgusted as I finished the listening. Additionally, I never felt like there was a climax to really hook the reader in. It felt like a slow burn from start to finish. I will continue to the second book because I can see the potential of this series, but it definitely needs something more engaging going forward. Also, the narrator was great and really kept me engaged even when I felt my eyes start to glaze over in some of the lulls.

Tim Gerald Reynolds was as great as always. The ending was not what I was expecting. Can’t wait to listen to the next in the series.

The MC was infuriating!

I loved the the MC in the first book of the series but now he is simply intolerable. How can you go 5 years into the future but the MC regressed to the mindset of a 9 year old child? I can understand the author wants to make his character fallible but he overdone it and made him a fool. No respect.
