Absolutely, completely, definitely not .Rosie, meanwhile, isn’t looking for love; she’s looking for her biological father. Sometimes, though, you don’t find love: love finds you...

1944, in the ruined wine cellar of a Tuscan villa, as bombs fall around them, two strangers meet and share an extraordinary evening. A wonderfully fulfilling tale. Humour, art, emotion, intrigue, pathos and an E M Forster finale. What more can you ask of a book. I loved it.

another Castillo gem 💎
Revisado: 11-01-22
this is the 2nd book I've read in the series and although the story line was upsetting and difficult to take on board, the narrative ran at a pace and it kept my attention.

Historia
From the author of the best-selling Notes From an Exhibition comes an irresistible, searching and poignant historical novel of love, relationships, secrets and escape to find yourself, sometimes you must lose everything .A privileged elder son, and stammeringly shy, Harry Cane has followed convention at every step. Even the beginnings of an illicit, dangerous affair do little to shake the foundations of his muted existence.

A story too poignant not to be based on truth
Revisado: 10-11-17
I am a huge fan of Patrick gale and have loved all his books. His was perhaps not the best narrator although I did get used to him after a few chapters. The character of Harry Gale will stay with me. I feel sure that this story must be based on truth however fragile. Read it and love it as I did. Petra, Paul and Harry will surely get under your skin.

Historia
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara is an immensely powerful and heartbreaking novel of brotherly love and the limits of human endurance. When four graduates from a small Massachusetts college move to New York to make their way, they're broke, adrift and buoyed only by their friendship and ambition. Over the decades, their relationships deepen and darken, tinged by addiction, success and pride.

Predictable and rather weak story.
Revisado: 02-16-15
Pity the book did not match the performance of the narrator. Not one of Kirstin Hannah's best. The characters were one one dimensional and way too predictable.
