Let Dr Harris Talk

You lost a lot of my respect on this episode. Listening to you talk with another person who is the expert, it became very clear that you just like to hear yourself talk. If you re-listen to this interview, this individual Dr. Harris struggled to make any points at all because you continue to cut him off.

It’s hard to believe you have a doctorate with this kind of attention span.

Grant, selling is also not about hearing yourself talk. I am merely on chapter 20 of this book and I'm still waiting to hear some meat. I wouldn't of bought the book if I didn't neither I nor your other customers need to hear you talk for 20 chapters before you get to any kind of real techniques. This is a technique we call "hiding the meat". So you convince yourself that you wrote a book when really all you have is a couple chapters of value. You may have close a sale on this book but I think you owe me 50% of my money back.

This is a great book and there's good reason why it's on the bestsellers list. This book came out in 2009/2010 and received a lot of popularity for its assistance in helping people who are struggling getting through the recession (particularly business owners). I didn't buy the book for that reason now, so while it is a great book it is not befitting of the times for me personally. I think the description on this bookcould be a little bit more precise.

The book does has some slow points and a few points that could have been done in a way that is more credible. But overall, it is outstanding. The book Think and Grow Rich has timelessly stated that the mind attracts what the mind dwells about. The Secret pulls historical references and provides an excellent guide to the spritual reasons on why thinking positively and focusing on the good in life are so important.

I have seen these principles work in my own life and they bring happiness and prosperity.

I recommend for Men to purchase for themselves.

Total
4 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 02-04-09

My opinion: written by women for men. A little one sided. If your a dude buying a book for yourself - it was eye opening and surprisingly did vindicate a number of my wifes statements which made me certain I was being manipulated. (supporting documentation for things like my doing the dishes "turned her on").

The fact that I bought it and listened to it (and called my wife every night while travelling to discuss the subject matter) was beneficial and gave me an unemotional platform to suck some information out of her on her mental mechanics.

I think it meant something to her that with our impending baby that I cared enough to listen to a book on our marriage. She even laughed when I called to tell her that the three female authors (who are a little short on the male perspective) were driving me nuts and I wanted to throw my iPod out the car window.

There was about 45 minutes I was near throwing my iPod out the window of my car as I listened to three women who just couldn't agree with each other more. So brace yourself. Half of the recording is them repeating how many women attested to them that men "just don't get it".

In the end I decided that it was smart that as a man I get the female perspective. I would not suggest listening to this if you are a woman. The male viewpoint may not be represented enough for it to be of value to you. As a matter of fact it could be a detriment. Had my wife bought it for me it would not have had the same affect.

Overall, I did learn a few things and enjoyed using the subject matter to engage my wife and enjoyed relating a number of the topics to her.

This is a SHORT story.

As a triathlon freak I'd hoped for a little more focus on the event. This is an authors story more of the interface with his unique Triathlon training than it is about the training or the event. It is a short, fun, listen, but is really a short story about two people moreso than triathlon.

Autobiography of T. Boone Pickens

Total
4 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 02-04-09

Book covers alot of information on Energy, but this truly is an autobiography of T. Boone. The book dwelves into a number of topics including his Philanthropic activity with Oklahoma State, etc. I appreciated the personal history, the story of "Boone" building his companies, and the parts relative to Americas energy situation. If the topics are of interest you'll probably love the book. There are a few slow points (such as the Oklahoma State stuff) which I could tell interested the Author (but I hadn't signed up for) which were unexpected. But overall an enjoyable listen.

Unique and interesting book

At first I struggled with the Authors voice but after listening and understanding that this is one of the few books actually narrarated by the Author (who was born blind) it was a fascinating "read". It held my interst the entire way through and is obviously a topic which we would all find interesting. Seeing things from the other side, it is an interesting journey for someone born with this gift.

Unique Personal Interview with Jim Cramer

This does touch on stocks but is really more of a personal history of Jim Cramer. Wasn't what I thought it was but was interesting and entertaining. He is a unique guy and there was not a dull moment in the program.

This was one of my first audio books. I enjoyed it greatly. Couldn't wait to get back in the car to hear the next chapter. Would recommend for anyone with or recovering from Cancer as well.
