Great performance, but the story was difficult to get absorbed in. It may be better for a younger reader, but for me it was lackluster. Won’t be continuing the series.

Unfulfilled Potential

This story has good bones, unfortunately these bones weren’t built upon well. The story itself is interesting, but the author fails to explore its depths. Suddenly this girl is married off to multiple men and the author skims over the character’s feelings, just touching on them lightly. Like … this could have been such a good story but the author just missed the mark.

The female narrator was bland sounding - very little inflection in her voice. The male narrator was okay, but was overshadowed by how boring the female narrator was.

I know this sounds harsh, but I listen to a LOT of audiobooks and rarely leave reviews - but felt compelled to after listening to this story. Because phew, y’all … just skip this one. Goodness knows I’m not listening to book two. This will not be your new thrilling RH to get lost in.

Outstanding rendition

Mariana Zapata has a way of creating relatable characters that you truly fall in love with. Kulti was the first book of Zapata’s that I read, and I quickly devoured all her other captivating stories.

Sal and Kulti’s story is such an epic slow burn. This story has great humor … honestly, I’ve read this story countless times, and was still laughing throughout this listen.

This narration was very well done and I didn’t want to stop listening. I originally fell in love with the version by Callie Dalton, but this dual narration is fantastic (the male narrator does SO MANY accents, it’s amazing).

Abby Jimenez has a talent for creating stories with realistic, flawed characters. Whenever she has a book come out it’s immediately added to my “must read” (or, “must listen”) pile, and so far I have not been disappointed.

This book made me feel a full spectrum of feelings from pure joyous laughter to sorrow. I loved the depictions of friendship, romance, complex family dynamics, and realistic mental health struggles and how untreated mental health issues can have far reaching impact. As a romcom bookworm, this story made my heart full.

Can’t wait for whatever this creative author brings to us next.

Unique and captivating

I won’t lie, I’ve enjoyed every single one of Mariana Zapata’s books. So I am unsurprised at how much I LOVED this story. It was incredibly unique, had curveballs, witty humor, and excellent character development. It was one of those stories that I just didn’t want to end, and I couldn’t stop listening to.

As far as the narration goes, the pair did a great job. Callie Dalton did the majority of the narration and then the male narrator voiced the main male lead and it was like spliced into Callie’s audio. It flowed well, and I throughly enjoyed listening to their narration.

Awesome story, decent narrator

Really enjoyed this story. Somewhat reminded me of The Hunger Games, but definitely not “the same story told a different way” kinda thing. This story was definitely original. The narrator grew on me as the story progressed, but the first twenty minutes made me cringe, but as soon I was accustomed to her slight lisp (or something?), I grew to enjoy her narration.

Abby Jimenez never disappoints, honestly. All her books are spot on. This one is the same - throughly developed characters, interesting plot, and a story that you fall in love with. Thoroughly recommend!

This story is gold

I was hesitant to listen because of all the negative reviews that I saw … but I’m really glad I ignored them and got this book. The first few chapters I had to sludge through - there’s lots of world building, as well as learning various relationships and names. However, once I got into it, I was truly entranced. This is a story full of fantasy, romance, and mystery all woven together and I couldn’t stop listening because I found it so intriguing. I’m excited to see where the next book leads.

Phenomenal story

Katherine Center hit a slam dunk with this one. I found myself chuckling out loud to the shenanigans that these characters get up to. Honestly, I couldn’t stop listening to this story. I found the main character to be so lovable and her insecurities were certainly relatable.

If you need a great romantic comedy, something that will leave you feeling all the warm fuzzies, then I strongly recommend this story.
