Historia
Keith has died 12 times. After making a deal with a mysterious immortal, he was sent to a new world in hopes of gaining the offered reward - a chance at a better life with his family. However, Keith failed to realize that this deal did not come with an expiration date, no matter how many times he died. After dying for the dozenth time, Keith renegotiates with the immortal. This new deal will see him sent to the world of Raiah - a world filled with monsters, cowardly monkeys, and a system of magic very similar to the fantasy roleplaying games his brother used to enjoy.

Great new series !
Revisado: 04-20-25
Really enjoyed the story! The MC was relatable and not OP or too stupid to function, which is a nice change of pace for the genre. The crafting elements and their inspiration from the monster hunter ganes was felt and appreciated. I can't wait to listen to the next book!

Historia
Years have passed since the devastating war tore through the heart of the Settled Territories, reshaping the balance of power in ways previously unimaginable. Yet, tranquility remains elusive as the looming threat of the Domes, ancient prisons harboring horrors rivaling that of Hastur, edges closer to unleashing chaos upon the world.

Decent start, but frustrating ending
Revisado: 04-20-25
I enjoyed the journeys the main characters went on to gather power and learn more about their new world. The ending fell rather flat though. The latest big bad has some hefty plot armor - has countermeasures for everything, dominates in 5v1 fights against the strongest characters, uses his soul as a resource which supposedly takes a heavy toll yet does it constantly.... There are just so many things about him that don't make sense. And their final show down felt like it was aiming for grand and epic, but felt drawn out and tedious. The constant breaks in battle so someone can internal monolog about some new power, only for it to be useless in said battle, was so frustrating. Hopefully the next book is better, I really loved the early books, but this one felt rather flat by comparison

Historia
The battle’s end was supposed to bring peace and establish the Bravers’ new home in the Shiverglades, but all it brought was pain and suffering. With his closest friends lost to another realm, over half of the settlement’s population injured, and missing supply chains, Hal doesn’t have a moment to rest. He may have won the battle with the Shiverglades, but he has yet to win the war.

Loved the story, but felt a bit drawn out
Revisado: 03-14-25
I really love the characters and how their relationships are growing, but most of the book felt like a city builder sim and that got a bit tiring. Very excited to see how things develop in the next book though !

Wonderful performance carrying a slow series
Revisado: 02-09-25
I really wanted this book to be a turning point in the series, but it only got worse. There is scarce plot movement and most of the book is dungeon grinding and introductions to new characters we'll probably never see again. There are also so many other plot points and characters that were just completely abandoned.
The premise of the books is wonderful and the character development is good, if inconsistent, but the overarching story is a patchwork of good ideas lacking purpose and direction.

Historia
Deep inside Minkalla's depths Matt, Liz, Aster, and Susanne just fought one of the strongest monsters they have ever encountered. But their delve isn't over yet. Three floors remain and each promises to push them past their perceived limits. There is no escape. There is no higher Tier to get them out of trouble. The only things they can rely on are themselves and the rest of the party.

The slow pacing makes it feel like a chore
Revisado: 02-09-25
I really liked the start of this series, but I'm struggling to stay interested. Their path to power is interesting, but feels a bit hollow when there isn't a well defined antagonist to wet their blade against. Frustratingly enough, we keep getting introduced to characters that seem tailor made for that role, only to never hear mention of them after a 2 chapter lark.

Minkalla, a planet where only those below TIer 15 can enter. A planet where the rules of the realm are changed, where the weaker you are the greater the rewards. Matt and the team intend to conquer it at Tier 11. Seven floors, seven rewards of every increasing power, thousands of chances of death not just from the Tier 14 monsters but from all the others entering the planet.

Decent story, but doesn't have much spark
Revisado: 01-21-25
I really enjoyed the first book and hoped the story would continue to improve, but its been a bit of a letdown. Their progression and delving is all well and good, but it feels hollow without a decent antagonist. The brief introduction of multiple characters from different opposing factions is a huge tease that hasn't paid off. Hopefully more tension develops, but for now I'm setting the series aside for something a bit more engaging

Amazing progression. Great new characters
Revisado: 12-25-24
The breakneck pace of the story is so engaging and rewarding. The newest spirit to join the team is also an amazing addition! He brings wonderful comedic relief to the story that we get to enjoy before the blooper reel.

And martial artists who could use magic. Three years of living his life as one of the citizens, those without power, and Ash has figured out how to survive with his adoptive family and a lot of persistence. Great performance, mid story
Revisado: 12-01-24
I loved the narrators performance, but the story felt bland and wasn't helped by the weird slave/ harem of one dimensional devoted followers who fawn over the MC as if he's their only reason to exist

Amazing performance and great story!
Revisado: 11-10-24
The writing could use some polish, but it's still a very charming story. The narration is also amazing and manages to ease over some of the rougher aspects of the story. I'm not sure why these was a ton of emphasis on the MC being a (nearly) PhD when he talks and reasons like a socially awkward high-school student. Hopefully they embrace him being a battle junkie/ murder hobo in the next book!

Alexandra has survived the Republic's kidnapping attempt, and it has only reinforced her conviction. She must build up her forces and create an army vast enough that no one will ever dare to attack again. Or, failing that, an army large enough to eradicate her enemies no matter where they run. Meanwhile, her two noble allies are finding themselves in a delicate position. Their dungeon town, although prosperous, is threatened from all sides. They are forced to make more and more unsavory alliances to stay ahead of their foes.

Revisado: 11-04-24
I'm enjoying the way the story is developing, but have similar critiques from the previous book. The story shifts perspectives so often, that it's a bit distracting. Hopefullyin the next book we will learn more about the order and what the MC has planned for them now that she has lost some of her restraints
