A Great Look At What Could Have Been
Revisado: 04-30-17
Although neither story is exactly 5 star material, they both are great for what they are. The first was definitely the better of the 2. I understand the criticism for the sexism in the story, but I can ignore it since no one with the tiniest shred of common sense can not know to expect extreme sexism from a story written in the 60s about women taking over and being as chauvinistic as men were in the 50s.
The second story sounded like it had potential, but I just couldn't get into it beyond the curiosity of a Dalek episode that never got filmed. I wish I had known before listening that it was the pilot for a spin off type show that was intended for American audiences. I would have listened eventually, but I would have been in no rush if I had known.
Frazer Hines performance as the Doctor is so perfect it makes the first story much more enjoyable than it otherwise might have been. I had to laugh, because in the extras when he talked about how he was trying to do the scene where the Doctor escapes, I had actually pictured the same scene in my head that he said he was trying to emulate.

A great look back
Revisado: 01-09-17
Definitely not the best Dalek story, not even by the standards of 1965, but this is definitely worth a listen to any fan who is curious about the history of the series.

Interesting idea, but boring
Revisado: 01-06-17
I couldn't get past chapter 5. A follow up to Robots of Death really sounded like it would be great, but there is just nothing interesting about this story.

Historia
The Doctor has always admired the work of William Shakespeare. So he is a little surprised that Charley doesn't hold the galaxy's greatest playwright in the same esteem. In fact she's never heard of him. Which the Doctor thinks is quite improbable. General Mariah Learman, ruling Britain after the Eurowars, is one of Shakespeare's greatest admirers, and is convinced her time machine will enable her to see the plays' original performances. Which the Doctor believes is extremely unlikely.

I thought it would be better.
Revisado: 12-19-16
Daleks quoting Shakespeare sounds entertaining in theory, but in practice the story wasn't enjoyable at all. The full cast audio is what spared it a 1 star review.

Good War Doctor Story
Revisado: 12-11-16
This is the first War Doctor story I've given any attention to since his appearance in the anniversary episode. I think the only way this could have been better is if John Hurt had done the voice acting.

Great original Dalek story
Revisado: 12-08-16
The audios featuring the cast are always great. It was nice to hear Tom Baker in a Dalek story where Davros wasn't the featured villain. It was also cool to have Leela have a Dalek encounter too.

entertaining fairy tale parodies

Not a single bad story in the set. It was fun trying to figure out the ones that don't make it obvious what story they're based on.

Nice collection of stories.

I'm not good at reviews, but I can say with certainty that this set is worth listening to. I enjoyed every story. The only way it could have been better is if it had been read by the actors.

Just stick with volume 1. At least the original stories in it were good enough to make up for the novelization of the TV episodes.
