Monotone narrative, monotone story

Every character was emotionless and one-note.
Oh, the main character saw a group of young children (one of whom was pregnant) eating a human leg? That must have been horrifying and caused endless stress. We will never know because everything in this book was presented as if it were a textbook. No reactions, no emotion, nothing to indicate the characters were anything resembling a real person.

Pushing "Woke" Views

I guess every Imperial person that wasn't shown in the movie was a woman. Seriously, EVERY SINGLE ONE?!
Oh, let's not forget that we need to make as many characters as possible homosexual to show how "woke" we are.

In addition, we need to really push the fact that a story takes place on a spaceship so we will have a constant roar in the background. I kept thinking my car had a flat tire.

LGBTQXYZ Agenda, and Nothing More

Has there been a more self centered and unlikable main character in a book? Seriously, even Hannibal didn't compliment himself as much as this girl did. She's so "hot" that she just can't stand herself. Don't forget that her "hotness" gives her power over everyone. It's like 2003 Paris Hilton was the model for the character.
Did this book has a purpose other than pushing a liberal agenda?
Thank goodness Audible lets me return this download and get my credit back.

The author should have spent less time trying to push their man-hating, feminist agent and more time writing a story above the sixth grade level. Seriously, it felt like an angry, sexually confused middle school girl wrote this.

Be Careful What You Hope For

My daughter downloaded this book after we both listened to the first of the series.
I have a few hopes for this book.
I hope Mary is confused and offended at every occasion.
I hope Katherine mentions that she is a puma in every other sentence.
I hope Justine is quiet and remorseful.
I hope Beatrice is referred to as "the poisonous girl" every single time she is mentioned.
I hope every word out of Diana's mouth is her bragging about her ability or an attack about how lame the rest of the characters are. As a bonus, I hope she also moans about constantly being hungry.
I hope we get to hear about how women have an adventure in the 19th century with the sexism they must face and not a bunch of characters who have no problem passing as men with a simple change of clothes. Seriously, if I wanted to hear about how men moved through this world, I would not have downloaded a book filled with female characters.

The characters are one dimensional and the whole story seems to be an excuse to promote cross dressing.

The odd cadence of the narrator was difficult

I could deal with the accent but the short, stabbing flow of the narrator robbed the joy from this book
