Historia
With authoritative reporting honed through eight presidencies from Nixon to Obama, author Bob Woodward reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump’s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies. Woodward draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, meeting notes, personal diaries, files, and documents. The focus is on the explosive debates and the decision-making in the Oval Office, the Situation Room, Air Force One, and the White House residence.

Never Count on Anything
Revisado: 10-17-18
The presidency of Donald Trump should....and will be studied for years to come. First,, how did he bypass his Republican opponents who were classic presidential material , especially using childish, inflammatory rhetoric ? Simple, nobody in the Trump campaign, the candidate himself, thought he'd win. So, this was to fill the true goal in his life, to stand conventional broadcast TV on its ear. So, it didn't matter. But, there were too many vacant factories, treaties that we entered that hurt, not helped, the American worker. Plus, fair or not, many voters just couldn't stand Hillary Clinton. The only voters with true passion were Sanders supporters and, despite his loss, they stayed home or voted for Jill Stein, because of Clinton's perceived arrogance. From day one, with the argument about the side of the crowd, this was to be a contentious presidency. The only people that truly matter to Trump, which Woodward makes a pretty good case for, are his family, especially Ivanka (not her real name, by the way). His is not a true conservative platform. He latched on to what he saw was the biggest void, the right. The preachers, whose fight against abortion is in their DNA all saw someone that could be useful to them, plus Hillary was adamantly pro choice. And the list goes on, but with one big difference. No Modern American president has had the turnover and rivalries, so quickly, that Trump has. As to Woodward, there are few spots in the book that come even close to him expressing his opinion. Message: Trump wins by being mad at the same things that John and Jane Q Public are mad at. Personally, I think his age, indifference to the job and thin skinned ego will cause him to not run again. Pence is portrayed as a true lightweight, so he's not a factor. One thing's for sure, American politics will never be the same again and the next president will have a very difficult task getting people to respect the office the way they once did.

Historia
At work, I’m King of Wall Street. The heaviest hitters in Manhattan come to me to make money. They do whatever I say because I’m always right. I’m shrewd. Exacting. Some say ruthless. At home, I’m a single dad trying to keep his fourteen-year-old daughter a kid for as long as possible. If my daughter does what I say, somewhere there’s a snowball surviving in hell. And nothing I say is ever right. When Harper Jayne starts as a junior researcher at my firm, the barriers between my worlds begin to dissolve. She’s the most infuriating woman I’ve ever worked with.

Dependable (too familiar) Performance
Revisado: 09-11-18
Are there no other actors who can do these kinds of stories ? Sebastian is great, but I've heard him in at least 15 similar books. Central character more likeable than most, but i8n the end it's something you listen to cause you're in the car and don't wanna listen to the radio.

Historia
Cassandra Bowden is no stranger to hungover mornings. She's a binge drinker, her job with the airline making it easy to find adventure, and the occasional blackouts seem to be inevitable. She lives with them and the accompanying self-loathing. When she awakes in a Dubai hotel room, she tries to piece the previous night back together, counting the minutes until she has to catch her crew shuttle to the airport. She quietly slides out of bed, careful not to aggravate her already pounding head, and looks at the man she spent the night with.

Historia
When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

In Skyfaring, airline pilot and flight romantic Mark Vanhoenacker shares his irrepressible love of flying on a journey from day to night, from new ways of mapmaking and the poetry of physics to the names of winds and the nature of clouds. Here, anew, is the simple wonder and transcendent joy of motion and the remarkable new perspectives that height and distance bestow on everything we love.

YOU LIKE FLYING....WHAT'S NEXT
Revisado: 12-19-17
I love flying, too. I just can't rationalize an entire book romanticizing what bothers so many people.....flying on a modern, dirty, cold airliner. I'm glad this pilot loves it so much. Could have been a good chapter one, then how about a story ? Narrator's fine.

Good Bio, but Glosses over Kennedy's Dark Side
Revisado: 11-30-17
Matthews is a huge Kennedy fan, as am I. But you can't tell the Kennedy story without the dark side. Did Bobby have anything to do with Marilyn Monroe's death ? Did he really believe the Warren report ? Matthews book is more of an essay than a thoroughly researched book. It is informative and entertaining, but there are gaping holes in the story. Still worth a listen.

First Rate Storytelling
Revisado: 11-13-17
Bought this book before NYT expose of O'Reilly's sexual harassment antics at FOX. Not sure I would want to listen to his blasé delivery for 11 hours, but he only does the first chapter. Petkoff, who's just superb, does the book, with just the right mixture of information, awe, shock and irony.
This is the PEOPLE Magazine version of David McCullough's 1776, told in a far more interesting way. Washington , Jefferson, Franklin and other founding fathers are portrayed, warts and all, in a far less iconic way than most history books do. Make no mistake, the true hero is Washington, not only for his ,military genius, but for his agility , skill and patience. As we now know, all but Franklin were slave owners and profited richly from their slaves work.
Also, the story portrays the founding fathers as confused over what they wanted and not sure how to get there...just win, which Washington did.
Like the other "Killing" books, it's somewhat tabloid, but that makes up for the by-the-numbers portrayls of these characters in our school history books.
A great listen, highly enjoyable and superbly read.
