Love this show so much! Thoroughly enjoy starting my weekdays by listening to the shenanigans and hilarity of these hosts.

I find Karin Slaughter's books to be either a hit or miss, and unfortunately, this one was a miss for me. There are some horrifically graphic acts of violence that are a little too detailed for most. I've come to expect that with Karin Slaughter's books, but if you have never read a book by this author I do not recommend starting with this one. Even listening at 1.3x speed in audible, this one really dragged on.

As for the performance, the narration wasn't awful but the overpronounciation of "w" really got on my nerves. I don't think I will be listening to more audiobooks with this particular narrator in the future.

The Entire Miller family is insufferable, entitled and self absorbed. I would have preferred to have more time dedicated to the historical aspects and family history, but unfortunately, most of the book was a family arguing over inheritance for their own selfish reasons. I also so little to no personal growth for any of the characters, so the ending just fell flat.

Too much time spent on describing mundane things, like someone eating a protein bar. The writing has a tendency to be overdramatic, there is overuse of sayings like "her skin prickles" or "her stomach dropped" or "racing heart" when nothing scary or eerie is happening. Elin is so insecure listening to her inner monolog will make you want to pull your hair out. There are too many great mystery books out there, this one is just not worth the read/listen.

I love Brittney Pressley, but this book was just a complete bore. It was my stubbornness alone that prompted me to finish it, and by the end I was listening at 1.6 speed just to get it over with.

This was the least thrilling collection of stories I have ever had the misfortune of reading. I almost gave up multiple times, but the overview was so enticing I wanted to give it a chance. By the last story I was listening at 1.7x speed just to get it over with...

I found this book incredibly frustrating... For starters, there isn't a single likeable character in this story. The 2 main characters are self-centered and naive. The plot was obvious to the reader but it took the characters entirely too long to figure out. While the ending was clear, I had a lot of lingering questions after finishing the book.

Why did Daisy continue to take medication through her entire pregnancy without questioning what she was taking? And why did she continue to drink alcohol?

Regardless of being drugged, why didn't Daisy plan ANYTHING for the baby? There was no mention of her ordering so much as diapers for the baby. And what were her plans when the baby came, she was just going to continue to live in misery with her creepy mother-in-law?

How did Annie, as a middle-aged woman, somehow overpower her son and entrap him in the cellar?

If Annie/Grace was the last person seen with the stolen baby, why wasn't she questioned by the police when they were looking for him? She didn't seem savvy enough to outwit a police department and have nobody question her (especially since the case was clearly publicized).

As an avid psychological thriller reader, this was one of the biggest flops I've read. There are many other books with similar plots that are written better and have more well-developed characters.

The Worst of Kristin Hannah

I've enjoyed some of Kristin Hannah's novels, but this one was a complete flop. I found it to be incredibly boring, tedious and repetitive. So much of the book is focused on the weather and politics, but you get to the end of the book feeling like you barely got to know the characters.
