I wish everyone read this! I will probably read it again and again.
Itself nicely sectioned out so I feel like I can go back to a section if I need to practice something in particular.
I’m looking forward to seeing how it settles.

Good introduction to TCM, especially for those raised in western society. I enjoyed that it was a less patriarchal perspective too. Thanks!

Historia
Power is fundamental in our lives—we express it in every conversation, relationship, and choice we make. All too often, we equate force and domination with power, while gentleness and compassion are considered “soft” or “weak.” The destructive nature of this skewed perspective has never been more obvious, yet there is reason to hope. With Gentle Power, Dr. Emilia Elisabet Lahti shares an illuminating guide to an emerging shift in the way we define true strength.

The Sugar Jar metaphor is a powerful teaching tool that wellness advocate and coach Yasmine Cheyenne has successfully used with her clients. Now, in her debut book, she makes it available to everyone. Combining stories, exercises, and prompts, The Sugar Jar lets you see just how much energy you have and how much is being used by others. Well written and well read! The quality of the recording was good and the content provided a good foundation for self-care practices. This book reinforced some of the practices I already have and gave me access to another’s perspective.

Historia
You may "know" Jenny Slate from her Netflix special, Stage Fright, as the creator of Marcel the Shell, or as the star of Obvious Child. But you don't really know Jenny Slate until you get bonked on the head by her absolutely singular writing style. To see the world through Jenny's eyes is to see it as though for the first time, shimmering with strangeness and possibility.

Within you is a wellspring of strength and resilience, the ability to create and enjoy abundance, and an expansive sense of inner freedom and divinity. Yet after centuries of living in patriarchal societies, many women don’t realize how powerful they are—or how much they’ve been enculturated to keep their true nature hidden. In Roar Like a Goddess, trailblazing Vedic spiritual teacher Acharya Shunya empowers women to step into their divine immensity and lead powerful, abundant, and wise lives through her revolutionary revisioning of ancient India’s goddess archetypes.

So empowering! I loved that the author read it herself and she chose such a great series of bells and other musical accompaniment that created a truly peaceful ambience. I enjoyed learning about the goddesses and Durga is my new mom archetype all the way. Thank you, Acharya Shunya for sharing this with the world.

A Good First Try
Revisado: 09-23-22
You ever read a story based on a recommendation, and it’s short enough that it doesn’t feel like too big of a commitment, and it’s interesting enough that you don’t give up on it entirely since you did already buy it?
That was this one.
So overall — it was alright.
My favorite thing about it was the detail and genuine excitement about anatomy emanating from the voice of the writer. Also the narrator and audio quality was pretty good.
The character development and motivations were not great. There were large sections where I was just confused why and how a character would make that choice based on what we already knew about them form the story. It just didn’t track.
I think I’m most impressed that this is a debut novel. Seriously good work for a first published book. I want her to keep writing and get better and better.

Historia
The belief that all life-forms are interconnected and share the same breath - known in the Rarámuri tribe as iwigara - has resulted in a treasury of knowledge about the natural world, passed down for millennia by native cultures. Ethnobotanist Enrique Salmon builds on this concept of connection and highlights 80 plants revered by North America's indigenous peoples. Salmon teaches us the ways plants are used as food and medicine, the details of their identification and harvest, their important health benefits, plus their role in traditional stories and myths.
