Wanted to like it, but ugh…

I really wanted to like this book, and I slugged it through to the end. But how can I like a book with such unlikeable characters? The story dragged and I got tired of the pretentiousness of the Laura character and the uber creepiness of the Roach character. Sorry I wasted a credit on this one.

Couldn’t get past the narrator

I really wanted to like this box set and I think this might be a better read than listen. The narrator’s voice is so awful and how she does the male characters is terrible. Her voices are also inconsistent. Three chapters into the first book in the set and I had to stop listening because of the narrator.

Had high hopes

I really wanted to like this story and the first third of it, I did. Then I got so tired of the main character, Orla, whining and repeating everything over and over and over. The plot was just not believable and the "twist" at the end was a yawner. By the last third of the book, I just wanted to get it over with.

This book had such great reviews so I gave it a try. What a yawner. There was no character development and I couldn't have cared less about what happened to any of the characters. Too many storylines happening and some were left unanswered, and after 27 boring chapters, it all ended quickly in the 28th. Would not recommend this at all.
