Historia
Mike Hammer is a popular guy. At least with certain people. Several failed assassination attempts have got him riled, so apart from preventing the kidnapping of a famous New York socialite, he's hell-bent on figuring out who wants him dead...someone who's desperate for the kill of his life.

My first Mike Hammer story.
Revisado: 12-11-22
I must say that Stacy Keach has the perfect voice to do audio recordings for hard-boiled detective fiction but, it makes complete sense since we played Mike Hammer on TV in the 80s.

Historia
Alma Katsu calls My Heart Is a Chainsaw “a homage to slasher films that also manages to defy and transcend genre.” On the surface is a story of murder in small-town America. But beneath is its beating heart: a biting critique of American colonialism, Indigenous displacement, and gentrification, and a heartbreaking portrait of a broken young girl who uses horror movies to cope with the horror of her own life.

My Heart Is a Chainsaw
Revisado: 09-14-22
I generally do not enjoy things that are so meta but it works fairly well here. That being said I felt that some parts of the story were convoluted , and that the plot could have been more streamlined. I think that some readers may feel that the villain comes out of left field but, it's based on horror movies after all.

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-03-22
wanted to like it way more than I did as a huge horror movie buff. Disappointing. King does a good performance though.

A solid thriller. It had a few too many twists and turns for my liking but fun and solid none the less.

Travel writer Lea Sutter finds herself on a small island off the coast of South Carolina, the wrong place at the wrong time. A merciless, unanticipated hurricane cuts a path of destruction and Lea barely escapes with her life. In the storm’s aftermath, she discovers orphaned twin boys and impulsively decides to adopt them. Meh. It Needed Mr. Slappy. A fairly average book. Slow paced and predictable. The characters were pretty generic as well.

Historia
In this stirring audiobook, David McCullough tells the intensely human story of those who marched with General George Washington in the year of the Declaration of Independence, when the whole American cause was riding on their success, without which all hope for independence would have been dashed and the noble ideals of the Declaration would have amounted to little more than words on paper.
