Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

New author for me… book was AWESOME!
Revisado: 11-26-24
This was my first book Kristin Hannah. It was recommended by a friend who knows I love historical fiction, and it did not disappoint! I immediately finished this one and started Four Winds. I can’t wait to start another. Great characters, vivid descriptions, emotional connections… you won’t be able to put it down. You are there, in the book, every minute. I highly recommend!

Discovered a new author!
Revisado: 05-06-23
Stumbled across this author after listening to a compilation piece featuring one of her shorter stories. I searched for other pieces from her and found this new release. Enjoyed it immensely. Narrator was easy to listen to and it is a sweet story line.

Historia
Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.

First Sullivan book I’ve listened to... hard to get into.
Revisado: 01-05-20
First book by this author for me. Purchased on an audible sale because it looked interesting. Very hard to follow at times and almost returned it twice. Narrator was great, but it was not an easy listen. I had to rewind in several places to really focus and keep things straight. Last part of the book had me hooked but it took a long time to get there. Curious how the story unfolds but not sure if I will buy book 2 or look for another series/author. Think I’ll try something else before I decide.

Loved the series but too much swearing in this book
Revisado: 12-17-18
Great series for the teens and I enjoyed it but the bad language increased in the last three books. This one had too much to make it enjoyable. Great story but wished all that had been left out. As a teacher and mother I wouldn’t recommend to others looking for preteen/teen sci-fi even though the story line was good and the characters engaging.
