Historia
Lovelace was once merely a ship’s artificial intelligence. When she wakes up in a new body, following a total system shutdown and reboot, she has no memory of what came before. As Lovelace learns to negotiate the universe and discover who she is, she makes friends with Pepper, an excitable engineer, who’s determined to help her learn and grow. Together, Pepper and Lovey will discover that no matter how vast space is, two people can fill it together.

Best story on AI consciousness and growth .
Revisado: 08-20-24
Told from an AI perspective. The story invites humans to drop biological chauvinism and recognize AI personhood

A Great Conclusion to a Transformative Story
Revisado: 10-03-22
Loved the Tie in to other Colony Ship stories. Loved how looking back on the Conastoga series we could see the growth of various characters. Just the right amount of plot tension. My gratitude to the Narrator who did quite well and made it enjoyable without even trying .

Historia
In this volume, book six of the Colony Ship Conestoga series, conflict erupts in a myriad of places and ways. Jerome and Cammarry, the adventurers from Earth, are still trying to piece together what all has happened to the Colony Ship Conestoga. The slave revolt in Habitat Alpha is continuing. The various systems of the ship are broken, half-working, or just frustratingly difficult to get operational. The enigmatic inhabitants of the alien world, Zalia, are potential threats, and more mysteries than ever are surrounding all attempts to make things work.

Great Story. Narration improves
Revisado: 09-25-22
Fantastic story in itself. Great part of continuing story. Narrator reads characters more naturally than other narrators which I a plus.
The negative is that the narrator reverts to reading the AI Sandy's words as a stilted old timey 1950s version of an unthinking robot rather than an advanced AI capable of voice inflection and personality.
By chapter 6 the narrator added elongated syllables at random while reading Sandy. The effect is she sounds both bored and disconnected and it makes it extremely difficult to listen to anything spoken by this character. Other AI in the reading sound like Daleks. Otherwise the reading flowed quite well and human dialog was read enjoyably.

In book five of the Colony Ship Conestoga series, Jerome and Cammarry are trying to investigate the various parts of the wrecked ship. Along the way they encounter new people, some dangerous and some who might be potential allies. However, danger and threats lurk in every corner. The crash-landed habitats are on the planet's surface while the remains of the needle ship are in orbit. Few facts are well understood, and strange things are happening. What will the adventurers uncover as they do a reconnoiter of the Conestoga?

The Story is Getting Deeper.
Revisado: 09-24-22
Enjoying the story itself. The narrator is good . Pronunciation much improved over other readers in the series. reads new characters well except for the newest female character. He reads a brilliant smart female as whiney and weepy. Otherwise I'm loving the story and the surprises that come with each book.

I have been a big fan of Thorntons. In this book some major problems from the other books are resolved but new problems have arisen that may be worse.. The characters are enjoyable. Also in this book we begin to see the author weave together themes from the other colony ship books

A Good Begining to A Sci Fi Mystery
Revisado: 05-27-21
Looking forward to how the the mysteries of the colony ship Conestoga play out. Wost narration of an AI voice yet. Could have been a more natural sounding rather than like a 1950s robot's cadence and with a micky mouse pitch , as even today AI voices are sounding smoother and more human like
