This book deals with pretty rough subject matter- especially early onset dementia. Abby approaches it with sensitivity and realism along with the other big themes in the book (long-distance relationships, abusive parents, etc).
Unlike other romance or rom-com novels, there isn't a quick magical fix that solves everything, and for me that makes it a more enjoyable story. As a reader, you get invested in the main characters and can sympathize with their struggles.
Abby's books just get better and better every time. This one will stay with you.

Decent story, passable narration and terrible editing

I wasn't the biggest fan of this narration and some of the accents/voice characterizations, especially for Damien (which was tough since he's a MC). There were also periods where there were long spaces of nothing- to the point I was grabbing my phone to see if my app shut off, as well as more than one instance of a recorded line being repeated- which is why I say the editing was terrible.
The storyline was ok and worthwhile if you wanted to know more about Damien and Sari after the first 3 books in the series, but I feel like more could have been resolved at the end.

Great story but the narration is hard to listen to

The story was a great continuation of the first books but there were several moments I almost stopped listening and wanted to switch to actually reading the book because the narration was so bad. It was very overdone and honestly detracted from the story.

Blah storyline

Every time I thought the main characters were going to get some depth, it just didn't happen. Any obstacles were quickly resolved, so there was absolutely no tension. There were several storyline that could have been further developed but they just weren't. Light read is putting it mildly.

Great reminder to live each day to the fullest

I listened to this book in under a day. I had to know what was going to happen next.
The story sucks you in. It is unique to have a main character who makes a conscious decision to live her life (and die) on her terms no matter what- and then sticks with it. Difficult subjects are tackled from different perspectives, with no judgment.
This Audible version is fantastic. The inflection on the "click bait" chapter titles made me giggle each time and I absolutely laughed out loud, and cried, in some parts thanks to the delivery of the text. The narrators have a way of making you forget they are reading, just like good acting makes you forget you're watching a movie or TV show. You are just in the moment and in the story.
I highly recommend you listen, and make sure you've got time when you start because you won't want to stop!

Lost sleep to finish but it was worth it

Don't start this book too close to bed, because you will want to stay up all night listening until the end!
