Historia
When a young man is found frozen to death on a Highland street in mid-December, DCI Jack Logan initially puts it down to a Christmas night out gone tragically wrong. I like the characters. Some of the accents in the reading are distracting. It's a good story.

Small Town Mystery
Revisado: 01-26-23
William Kent Kreuger is a favorite author. Ordinary Grace is a gripping story of the destruction that violence can bring to an individual, a family, and a community. In this story such damage is tempered by hope, faith and love. These opposing forces are gracefully rendered in this spellbinding novel.

Great Lusten
Revisado: 11-16-22
This podcast is a great listen. Good, much less excellent, Southern Gothic tales are few and far between. The characters have distinctly different voices that are believable and engaging. The progression of the story is well-developed and will hook the reader to stay up past bedtime. The language is rich and evocative. I loved every minute of the podcast and look forward to hearing more from this gifted writer and performer.

Historia
At times stern, at other times patient, at times perceptive, at other times in sad denial, Olive Kitteridge, a retired schoolteacher, deplores the changes in her little town of Crosby, Maine, and in the world at large, but she doesn’t always recognize the changes in those around her: a lounge musician haunted by a past romance; a former student who has lost the will to live; Olive’s own adult child, who feels tyrannized by her irrational sensitivities; and her husband, Henry, who finds his loyalty to his marriage both a blessing and a curse.

Tough Read
Revisado: 02-28-20
This is a great great book, but I found it sad and tough to listen to. The stories were touching and tough. I think the author was able to get to the heart of what it is to be human, and the end result is a memorable but bitterseeet read.
