Historia
Forty-five years later, a spiritually tormented smuggler reveals his shocking secret life. Born in a refugee camp, the author sidestepped hallucinogens, gangsters, law enforcement, and conmen, graduating from pot dealer to personal gopher for a world-class smuggler, later becoming an undercover operative for an “adjunct arm” of the US government. Marjan’s path took him to places he really didn’t need to be long before he arrived.

Fascinating Memoir!
Revisado: 07-12-23
This audiobook will keep you captivated. The author’s life story is fascinating and keeps you on the edge of your seat. His experience in the dark side of the crime world mixed with his own personal spiritual questions is a refreshingly new type of true crime story.

Historia
Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination. Rose Mary painted and wrote and couldn't stand the responsibility of providing for her family; she called herself an "excitement addict."

By far my favorite book I’ve read this year
Revisado: 10-16-19
Absolutely loved this book. I’ve read basically everything Jeannette Walls has written- and while all of her work is incredible, The Glass Castle is my favorite. The writing style is not too flowery and quick to the point (which I prefer), yet really beautiful in its simple way. I also love the way she narrates her stories, wish I could give 10 stars for performance! My one complaint is that there aren’t enough Jeannette Walls books in this world...I need more!
