In a spellbinding new masterpiece by #1 New York Times bestselling author Daniel Silva, Gabriel Allon undertakes a high-stakes search for the greatest art forger who ever lived. Legendary spy and art restorer Gabriel Allon has at long last severed ties with Israeli intelligence and settled quietly in Venice, the only place where he has ever truly known peace. Mr. Fry commits to this book. One can feel his passion with every word, every comment- whether written or spoken (I experienced both, and prefer the audiobook). He understands the content, has digested it’s meaning, then can put a character voice and intention behind the words to propel the story in a masterful way. I was at the edge of me seat the whole time I listened. BRAVO! Mr Fry, again.

I have only heard episode one, but I am excited to hear more. The idea of a random stranger revealing such a personal vulnerable part of themselves is fascinating enough, but when a person-poet can speak to that vulnerability with a poem of their choice- the connection goes deep. So, I love the concept, and the professional production of every part of this delightful and meaningful show. Only slight improvement would be to slow down the pace a slight bit so I can better digest the words- there is so much to ponder here, Thanks for creating such a meaningful podcast.

Historia
Louise Erdrich's latest novel, The Sentence, asks what we owe to the living, the dead, to the reader and to the book. A small independent bookstore in Minneapolis is haunted from November 2019 to November 2020 by the store's most annoying customer. Flora dies on All Souls' Day, but she simply won't leave the store. Tookie, who has landed a job selling books after years of incarceration that she survived by reading "with murderous attention", must solve the mystery of this haunting.

Wonderful!
Revisado: 12-31-21
Hearing the actual voice of the author, Louise Erdrich, was an exceptional way to hear this story. I have read much of her work, but I have never heard her voice. She is an excellent Voice Narrator. I became absorbed by the voice, the story, the cadence, the pauses and realized how I thought about the content during each day I was witnessing this story unfold. So grateful for this experience and I recommend it to anyone who perceives our multi-dimensional Universe— our material and spiritual worlds. Wonderful!

Historia
When award-winning actor, producer, and international icon Gabriel Byrne was a young boy, his grandmother brought him to the cinema for the first time. There, Byrne fell in love with the transporting power of the big screen. Growing up in 1950s and 60s Dublin within a family of eight, Byrne's formative childhood years were both carefree and challenging, spent between home, the church, school, and the streets of his ever-changing city.

A powerful listen. Fleeting moments of meaning from the life of Mr. Byrne. A poetic recital turning a common life into an extraordinary one. How is manages to remember how he felt in so many moments from some very early days of his life is almost haunting. Extraordinary.

Disappointing experience
Revisado: 08-03-19
I was disappointed because the audio book sounded like a documentary film, wherein we could not see the whole picture. IT was over-produced for an audio book of any serious merit in regard to Brain research. The content was good, but the creative development veered the contents into territory I found uninteresting. The style smothered the substance. I also found the concepts more difficult to grasp. I would have preferred a reading of the book, without the over-reliance on production. Too bad for me.

This story and performance are a wonder to witness.
Revisado: 08-03-19
I have been a fan of Gaiman’s work. But, after hearing his simple telling of this story- not a new one- I was blown away with excitement throughout the telling. I enjoyed it much more that when his work is read by a cast of ‘actors’. This is so intimate and personal. He is the master of suspence and the unusual. I felt a real cathartic experience at the end. No frills, just a story told to enjoy and ponder. Such a joy to know that someone can write such great stuff, and then on top of that can read it in such a perfect interpretation. Almost the stuff of great spirituality.... almost....Bravo, Mr. Gaiman, again.

Historia
Analyst and author Ann Belford Ulanov draws on her years of clinical work and reflection to make the point that madness and creativity share a kinship, an insight that shakes both analysis and analyst to the core, reminding us as it does that the suffering places of the human psyche are inextricably -- and, often inexplicably -- related to the fountains of creativity, service, and even genius. She poses disturbing questions: How do we depend on order, when chaos is a necessary part of existence?

BRAVO! I am able to GRASP the content.
Revisado: 03-13-19
I don't know if it is the Reader (or Narrator) or the writing style of Ulanov, but I am able to decode the message loud and clear. Often the Voice of the Reader of these types of books fails to draw me into the content- and often annoys me, but this is different. And the content, it is spot on. The clear deliberate rhythm, (not speedy delivery) of the words allows my minds to grasp this content. Bravo to all involved! And I am a layman, not an academic.

Good storytelling.
Revisado: 07-03-18
I have rarely ever enjoyed a story of a love between two men as I have enjoyed this story. The details were complete and the eroticism was just enough to not put me off when I am not a tuned to gay eroticism. And the story of the mother understanding the love her son experienced and allowing for a kind of everlasting union in their death was heartwarming and unexpected. Bravo to writer and reader!

A riveting investigation of the myriad ways that parasites control how other creatures - including humans - think, feel, and act. These tiny organisms can live only inside another animal, and, as McAuliffe reveals, they have many evolutionary motives for manipulating their host's behavior. Far more often than appreciated, these puppeteers orchestrate the interplay between predator and prey.

Revisado: 07-03-18
The information provided in this book is great. Interesting, based on great stories and observations, experiments, and studies. I would prefer to read it than to hear it recited with this voice.
the inflections seems forced and inhuman. I don’t know why they chose a reader (or machine-reader) with so little finesse.
