Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Revisado: 06-24-22
This book feels like it will be a classic. So well done. Thoughtful themes and perfect pacing. Realistic characters.
A+ performance from narrator, Cassandra Campbell. I have only ever “read” this book here on Audible and I know her variety of voices made it feel more like a movie in my head.

Historia
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

Inevitably Boring
Revisado: 09-04-20
I got halfway through. I was just bored since chapter one. The only parts that were interesting were the few added scenes that weren’t in the original book. I enjoyed the original four books, but Edward is self loathing and it’s all repetition and him thinking so damn much between every word spoken between any characters.
And unlike Bella, he isn’t relatable at all. You except me to believe he’s 104 years old and a virgin? Really? How boringly safe. He has the money, he has the looks, he has everything...Gary Stew, anyone? And he supposedly hates himself so much because he’s a “monster” yet he really isn’t because he only has killed serial killers and animals.
And my god, somebody please explain to Stephanie Meyer the difference between the words “unconsciously” and “subconsciously” because she uses them incorrectly 100% of the time.

Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan, but for Cath, being a fan is her life - and she's really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow Series when they were just kids; it's what got them through their mother leaving. Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere. Cath's sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can't let go.

A Must-Read for Fangirls
Revisado: 06-10-20
If you consider yourself a fangirl of any type, you’re going to relate to Cath.
I loved Eleanor & Park, and I loved Fangirl maybe even more! The pacing was good, the characters seem real, and I haven’t ever read a book about somebody who wrote FanFiction and understood all that went with it. I love watching Cath grow, as well as the characters in her world. Such a good read. Um, where can I read Simon Snow now? Haha.
Rebecca Lowman does an awesome narration, she really can do male parts well too.
Anyway highly recommended! Rainbow Rowell is such a talented writer.

Historia
Bono met his wife in high school, Park says. So did Jerry Lee Lewis, Eleanor answers. I’m not kidding, he says. You should be, she says, we’re 16. What about Romeo and Juliet? Shallow, confused, then dead. I love you, Park says. Wherefore art thou, Eleanor answers. I’m not kidding, he says. You should be. Set over the course of one school year in 1986, this is the story of two star-crossed misfits - smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love.

Didn’t Want it to End!
Revisado: 05-20-20
I was looking up lists online of “must-read Audible books” and I kept seeing this one over and over so I figured it was a sign.
It took me an hour or two to really get into it, but once the story gets going, you feel like you know the characters in real life. The author just has this really talented writing style.
I have never read a book where a character (in this case Richie) was just like my own dad growing up. I related so much to Eleanor, and I want to thank the author for putting those feelings of abuse into words and feelings because there are indeed family lives out there, and it growing up in that environment sure can affect the way you open up the people, which we notice Eleanor struggles with.
Ironically, I am white too and married to a Korean man, and I recognize some of the Asian struggles Park faces as the minority.
I like that this book takes place in the 80’s. It makes you stop and realize how different technology (or the lack of!) affects dating. This book would not be the same if it took place in the 2010’s or 2020’s with smart phones - texting or even phone calls. And I think the lack of communication between Park and Eleanor was endearing, watching them get in touch old fashioned ways.
The performance was great. This is a good read! The ending leaves you wanting more for sure.

Historia
Call Me by Your Name first swept across the world in 2007. It is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents' cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. During the restless summer weeks, unrelenting but buried currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion as they test the charged ground between them and verge toward the one thing both already fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy.

Won’t Forget This One
Revisado: 05-02-20
Reading the mixed reviews for this book on here, I was torn on whether to buy this or if I’d like it. I’m glad I did.
It had a bit of a slow start, and at times I was annoyed with Elio’s excessively detailed thoughts, but I came to like it as the story progressed. The author really painted a picture of a time and place I’d love to visit, but also feel like I already have. The characters were well rounded, acting with all emotions, moody and unpredictable at times.
Overall this book was like very dark chocolate - rich and bittersweet but not in a bad way.
The performance was great, the narrator was perfect for this book.
If I had to critique the novel, I would say that sometimes I found it hard to believe Elio was seventeen - he sounded like an middle aged man. Also the author had the tendency of telling instead of showing. A lot of “We did this, and later I did that”. I do understand the story is told as Elio is older and in a way reminiscing the events of the summer, but sometimes I wish I could have enjoyed some of the moments in the book that I was just told happened. “We went on a bike ride this morning and later went for a swim.” Why not take the reader along on those adventures? He did sometimes, but a lot of this book was written in this manner. Still, I enjoyed it, and would recommend this book if you’re on the fence. It’s once I will remember for years.

Just What I Needed!
Revisado: 03-24-20
I have read many audible books on minimalism. Okay, so now I feel lighter and free, but why don’t I love my space? What is off about my house?
This book really opened my eyes to interior decorating. I never thought about shapes, textures, balancing feminine with masculine, etc. And I never knew where to start! Well when you actually follow the step by step process and don’t get ahead of yourself, I found that I might not naturally have the gift for interior design, but willing to learn and listen I really improved my house!
I would not recommend this book as a beginners guide to minimalism. I couldn’t imagine trying to decorate my house before I got rid of all the stuff that didn’t spark joy! This book is more of what to do after that. I enjoyed it.

Historia
Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it. Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things. But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them? Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated. Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.

So Clumsy! Not in a good way.
Revisado: 08-11-19
I started off really liking this book. The search for Ben and Arthur to reunite was really cute. Long and drawn out, but still cute. Then when they do finally meet it’s the most awkward chemistry ever. They’re doing do-over dates and all Ben thinks about is his ex-boyfriend. Arthur is overly jealous and the entire thing is so cringey to listen to. I made it halfway through, and their first kiss had no build up, it just happened, like the the author is trying to mash these two together when it normally wouldn’t happen. Ben and his best friend Dylan have more chemistry. Sorry, I couldn’t do it. Not a good romance. The voice actors put in a lot of emotion instead of just reading, which is a plus. But I couldn’t stand Arthur’s narrator, the gay accent is just obnoxious to listen to when he says female lines or his character gets excited. Returning this one.
