Great shortie. Ended too soon!
Revisado: 07-29-23
Man, I was entranced through the whole thing, but I couldn’t believe it when the story ended. Another hour wouldn’t have been enough. I believe I now HATE the saying to leave the audience wanting more. Because, I WANT MORE!!!

Historia
Jack Diller is just one more struggling actor on the road to nowhere. He’s got an agent who barely remembers his name, his ex-girlfriend has hooked up with a Silicon Valley dude, and the milk in his fridge is so far past its sell-by date it’s historic. The only way Jack can scrape together a bare existence is by delivering food to exactly the types of successful people he wishes he could be. Then, one day, a very strange audiobook shows up on his phone.

Oh My Gosh. Awful!
Revisado: 07-29-23
The ending is the best part. The premise of the story is unique, but written like a juvenile comedy, rather than the drama it should have been.
I felt sorry for Will and Ron trying to mouth some of the dialog. Will seemed to overact just trying to put the comedic spin on the story.
I do not recommend.

Excellent Story - Worth Reading
Revisado: 07-28-23
The story and performance were absolutely excellent. New ideas, real people, true emotions, fairly accurate science. The missing star is due to the unnecessary, piercing, distracting, annoying, much too long music between the chapters. Other than that I highly recommend this quick story. Kudos to author, cast, and crew.

Too much cursing
Revisado: 11-25-20
I found the stories and banter between the two hostesses riveting, however, I couldn’t get past the proliferation of the F-word throughout their banter and that allowed in the stories. Too bad because I truly think they have a unique idea and a good thing going for them. Looking forward to the day the language is cleaned up so I can offer a five-star review.

Absolutely Stunning Descriptions and Storyline
Revisado: 09-23-20
This book is written in first person with such a young, kind, and innocent voice that I could imagine young Odd speaking directly to me.
This was the first Dean Koontz book I had ever read. It wasn’t the last. Koontz quickly became my favorite author and even today I wait breathlessly for a title I haven’t yet read. I wait for the small nuggets of elaborate descriptions of things and situations that come to life in my mind. He has written so many of those and I treasure each new one I discover.

Historia
Thomas Malone thought he'd seen it all during his 25 years in the Birmingham homicide division. But then they found the body of a woman suspended above the opening of the mineshaft known as the Vertical, blood dripping into the chasm below. At the bottom of that shaft, two clues - a typed manuscript and a business card, blank but for a name on the front and a single sentence on the back.

Wow, Not a Great Third Volume
Revisado: 05-24-20
The first two volume had good stories and decent narrations, not sure what happened to this one. The best story was Maberry’s, but even the best can be taken down by a slow, gravely, and unemotional narration. Hopefully, a number IV will come out and rub a new shine on the series.

Excellent listen
Revisado: 09-04-19
I am very impressed with this book. After watching the movie, I found I wasn’t very interested in reading the book. I glad I did. Books are always so much better then movies.
I enjoyed George’s reading even more than the story. I got such a kick out of how excited he got when he was reading action scenes. And his voices and accents are just plain terrific. I was never confused as to who was talking.
Great job to both author and actor.

Deadpan reading but interesting content
Revisado: 05-23-19
I’m very happy I obtained this book, but next time I obtain an “instruction” type book I will purchase paper.
First, the promised set of pictures referenced are not in my library.
Second, the reading was deadpan. It may be that the writer instructed the performer to read this way, but I felt there were many opportunities for the performer to display some personality without tainting the content with emotion. I have heard no other readings by this gentleman so I have nothing at this time to compare it to.
I will stick to hardcopy for books providing illustrations.
