So disappointing and Incomplete
Revisado: 01-11-24
Definitely not what I was expecting from reading the description. I dont read a lot of Koontz and now understand why....this book is extremely sexual and the main characters are underage teens. The storyline is drawn out unnecessarily in some places and too short others. The ending was abrupt and leaves too many loose ends. If I can return it, I will.

A night spent sleeping on dirt and leaves is not how Claire Matchett expected to spend her vacation. She thought this would be a break. A week of hiking and hot tubs with two other couple friends. Then Claire’s minivan breaks down on a lonely dirt road. With no cell reception, the group has no choice but to hike the rest of the way to their hotel. But it turns out the woods aren’t as easy to navigate as they thought. Hours later, they are lost. Hopelessly lost. And as they navigate deeper into the woods, the members of their party are struck down mysteriously one by one.

Couldn't get through the first 45 minutes even
Revisado: 08-17-23
Sadly, I had a misc9nception about what this book was going to be. It is non-stop personal stories (that part was alright) and then scenarios of excuses the writer addresses, the narrator is almost condescending in some ways. I see a lot of great reviews for this book...unfortunately, it's a no for me. I dont want a self help book to ridicule my life.

Hard to listen to with a muddled storyline
Revisado: 07-13-23
I couldn't finish this book. Typically I enjoy Christopher Moore very much....this one is overwhelmed by the narrator's need to continuously use a "Mugsy" type old detective voice for the ENTIRE narration. I couldn't listen, so annoying. This would be a GREAT story ...in my humble opinion, if the narration was redone.

The author, Bain, does a great job of introducing new and seasoned fans to a countdown of King's writings. I learned some new info and look forward to his next count down.

Interesting Twist on Psycho
Revisado: 06-01-23
Im not sure why everyone has dissed this book, it was GREAT! I kept guessing at who was going to be involved in what and which character "did it". Great read! I couldn't stop listening, if you're a fan of Psycho, you'll enjoy this take on it.

So difficult to listen to
Revisado: 02-18-23
I am typically a Darcy Coates fan! Own numerous titles by this author and usually love the narration. This book though....it was all I had to finish it, only because I wasn't able to return it. This story, with the right narrator, could be awesome! Unfortunately, the way it is currently told - it is very hard to listen to. The narration is super forlorn (to be expected in some areas, but not through the ENTIRE thing), she is breathy with her alliterations, and pauses so long between chapters that I was constantly checking to see if my device had an error with the playback. THe narrator made it very difficult to follow the story line.

Historia
For longtime Stephen King fans, the highlight of this volume will be The Little Sisters of Eluria, which is something of a prequel to the Dark Tower series. For "Constant Readers" and neophytes alike, all of the dark tales herein are intense, eerie, and instantly compelling. King "develops characters and atmosphere more fully in the span of 50 pages than many authors can in a full novel," says Amazon.com.
