Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

I have been a fan of this book for a long time, and I've often wondered why it has yet to be made into a movie. It is a spectacular fantasy that has the potential to be a tantalizing production.

The youngest in a long line of witches, Ari senses things are changing for the worse. For generations, her kin have tended the Old Places, keeping the land safe and fertile. Now, she finds herself torn between the world of mortals and the world of Fae, who ignore what occurs in the mortal world, for the roads between the two lands are vanishing into thin air.

Just can't finish it

Make sure to listen to the sample before purchasing this. I did not and really regret it. While some may not be bothered by the narrator, I was. He has a strange way of ending the sentences that makes every sentence almost sound like a question. I found it very distracting and unfortunately can not finish this. I've enjoyed every other Anne Bishop book I've read, or listened to so I know it's the narrator.

Terrible narration, so-so story
Revisado: 08-11-10
I really wish I'd paid much better attention to the previous reviews. The narrator is absolutely TERRIBLE! She not only struggles horribly with the male voices, making them sound like grunting, rasping, evil villains, she struggled with the female voices as well. I actually found it hard to keep up with the very simple story line at times because the voices could be so different for the same character from one sentence to the next . It is awful! Really, really awful!! I highly recommend listening to the sample before downloading this. The story itself really wasn't that great, but the bad narration makes it close to painful to listen to.

Good book...not so good narrator
Revisado: 10-06-09
I agree with the other reviewers regarding the narration of this book. I am currently listening to the series again. I think the series is a lot of fun, but it would be so much better if all five books had been narrated by the same person. After listening to the first two books you really come to know the characters by their "voices". I found it hard to follow the story in this book at first because I had to re-learn all of the voices again. I agree that the voices for both Kira and Cammon are terrible.
I highly recommend the whole series of five books because of how much fun they are, just be aware there is quite a change after the first two.

Historia
In many ways, Carrie Parker is like any other eight-year-old: playing make-believe, dreading school, dreaming of faraway places. But even her imaginative mind can't shut out the realities of her impoverished North Carolina home or help her protect her younger sister, Emma.

After having only finished listening to this book three days ago, I've started to listen to it again.
The author did an astounding job at capturing the emotions of an abused child. I was completely enchanted with the main character from the very beginning. In part because of the wonderful narration. This however, is not a feel good book. It is gripping, enlightening, and poignant, but it is also dark, and sometimes painful to listen to due to the subject matter.
