Oh how I wish there were more works like this !
I used to read a lot of science fiction. I loved the more philosophical adventures. A space opera with a philosophical edge was always my favorite. But in time I got sick of being preached to by atheists. I stopped reading that stuff and have not touched it in 10 years... and do not miss it. But here, from almost a century ago is a most wonderful discovery! Wow. The complete and utter opposite of what I abandoned. Bravo Lewis!

A good read, good for the spirit too

Overall I liked this and it was a Christian encouragement. I would recommend it. However, while it is always difficult to imagine how one would portray Satan, his overall objectives in this particular book seem rather beneath him theologically. Satan's overall objectives are so in keeping with his "Hollywood" persona. However, the heroes are refreshing. And their mode of battle is just what it should be....prayer.

I am a conservative christian but this is shallow

What did you like best about The Snapping of the American Mind? What did you like least?
I agree with the general position in agreement with conservative values. But this book is just a shallow requote of fox news commentators. I mean that literally. I stopped about 30% into the book, because there was no insight beyond the author just re-quoting every left-bashing statement of people like Rush Limbaugh.
Has The Snapping of the American Mind turned you off from other books in this genre?
Certainly not. There are a lot of other insightful books. But an author has to be willing (in my opinion) to seriously treat the opposition as having something to say, he should do his/her own research, say something new or at least clarifying to justify my paying to hear.
Was The Snapping of the American Mind worth the listening time?
Not to me. But would be if you like limbaugh and want to just hear more of that. I must clarify that Limbaugh is too over the top for me... more mudfight than engagement.
