A must listen!
Revisado: 12-07-22
I enjoy listening to David, he is precise and to the point. He has a relaxing voice that draws you in, almost like a father or grandfather. He lays down wisdom in every episode. The men of this world need to listen to this podcast or someone similar. For me personally, the best part is that he brings in the gospel from time to time without shoving it in your face.

Nothing is more essential than knowing how to worship the God who created us. This audiobook focuses listeners on the essentials of God-honoring worship, combining biblical foundations with practical application in a way that works in the real world. The author, a pastor and noted songwriter, skillfully instructs pastors, musicians, and church leaders so that they can root their congregational worship in unchanging scriptural principles, not divisive cultural trends.

I was recommended this book by my Music Worship leader (and mentor). This book was incredible and absolutely worth the read. It is not a short book by most standards, but is loaded with so much knowledge that you will appreciate it in its entirety. If you are already a Christ follower who wants to learn more about Corporate Worship or our individual worship of the Lord, then this book will grow you.

Historia
Drawing on their own cross cultural experience in global mission, O'Brien and Richards show how better self-awareness and understanding of cultural differences in language, time, and social mores allow us to see the Bible in fresh and unexpected ways. Getting beyond our own cultural assumptions is increasingly important for being Christians in our interconnected and globalized world. Learn to read Scripture as a member of the global body of Christ.

Interesting read, but full of false doctorine.
Revisado: 04-19-22
I found the read to be very interesting, the "cultural blinders" effect is real, and for the most part the authors did a good job explaining this.
The reason I gave it one star though, it is full of false doctrine. Christians that have read the bible, understand that the Holy Spirit convicts us, not our fellow church and community. I finished reading the book, but did not encounter objective truth that lines up to the Word.

Historia
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

Amazing book, scary reality!
Revisado: 09-23-21
I found this book to be an incredible read. While I do enjoy informative books, this one has lead me to read and listen to more fiction books. This book does get very dark, so I would recommend caution for the squeamish.
1984 is the perfect book for people who want to come to know what it would be like to live in a true Marxist and authoritarian reality. It holds no punches as it reveals what your everyday life and thought process (or lack there of) would be when living in a society that is controlled by an unchallenged force that owns you down to your very core. You cannot eat, breath, or even lower your head in such a way that would make you an individual with your own desires or thoughts.
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
