Great story and narration, highly recommend downloading and listening to this book. Wish Frank dived deeper on a few topics, but understand why he could not, even all these years later.

Historia
LRPs were all volunteers. They were in the spine-tingling, brain-twisting, nerve-wracking business of Long Range Patrolling. They varied in age from eighteen to thirty. These men operated in precision movements, like walking through a jungle quietly and being able to tell whether a man or an animal is moving through the brush without seeing the cause of movement. They could sit in an ambush for hours without moving a muscle except to ease the safety off the automatic weapon in their hand at the first sign of trouble. These men were good because they had to be to survive.

If you like combat memoirs, especially Vietnam era this is a great one.
I’ve listened to most if not all Vietnam war era Lrrp, SEAL, special forces and MACV-SOG books available and although a bit shorter than some it was entertaining.
Much respect to all our brave

Another great book in the series . Recommended if you enjoy books based around characters like John Rain, Mitch Rapp, Court Gentry, James Reece and others.
Only thing I consider a negative is the length. J wish this series audiobooks were longer, 12-15 +hours like those series mentioned above. These books are too short at 3-4 hours long

As expected excellent book
Revisado: 10-01-21
As expected it’s a another excellent tier one book and amazing audiobook presentation.
Narrator is excellent and the story is one of the best in the tier one series so far.
If you like books like grey man, John rain (or any Barry Eisler book), agent zero, Scott Harvath, Mitch rapp , the terminal list and the dozen or so similar characters and the respective stories then you’ll surely love the tier one series .
I love any book in this genre and since I’ve listened to most similar series already, I’ve been looking for similar audiobooks to those above while waiting for Barry Eisler new John rain book to come out (tomorrow !!), as well as the next book in the above mentioned series to be released.
I already had a few tier one books in my library that somehow got lost in my many hundreds of audiobooks .
Well I’m extremely glad I found the rest of this series in my library because I’m loving it and ranks up there with all the rest.
If this genre is something you enjoy , give this book and series a listen, You are guaranteed to enjoy it .
Hope there’s many books to come in the series .

NOTE TO THE BELOW REVIEWER AND ANYONE ELSE WHO IS CONSIDERING THIS BOOK AND OTHERS LIKE IT———
In your review of this book you mentioned this book is up there with "dead center" and you would love other books similar to this. I've listened to every Vietnam war era memoir on audible and I suggest these books based on your taste, since you enjoyed "dead center" and this book.
You should listen to these following Vietnam era memoirs :
SILENT HERO's- Rick Greenberg (LRRP/Recon memoir , excellent story)
GOOD TO GO - Harry Constance (NAVY SEAL Memoir... Amazing book, great story. Author over 300 combat missions and over 32 military citations) a must listen!
WE FEW- Nick Brokhausen (MACV-SOG/ Recon team Habu memoir ) Great book
WHISPERS IN TALL GRASS - NIck Brokhausen (second book MACV-SOG/ RC Habu ) Great book
MEN IN GREEN FACES - Gene Wentz (Navy SEAL Memoir... Excellent book)
CHERRIES- John Podlaski
There's far too many to recall right now, but I will edit as I recall other great audiobooks on the subject for anyone interested in these great Vietnam memoirs. I listed silent Hero's first based on the first reviewer of "eyes behind the lines" taste based on their review. It's a great book, but out of the list in this review "Men in green faces" is most likely the best story.
