There is so much good advice and common sense in this book and I loved it. I certainly wish that Wayne Dyer were still with us.

Great Narrator

I wanted to read this book because I'm studying Spanish and this is a good way (for me) to study. The story was a bit strange but somewhat interesting. The best thing about this book for me was the narrator. I thought he was wonderful. He spoke every word clearly and at a speed that I could follow and understand. I would listen to anything he narrated!!

Happy to have found this book

I haven't finished this yet but it will take me a while (I'm listening in Spanish to learn the language better) and I wanted to write the review quickly. So far I'm really intrigued by this book. Anyone who has read "En el tiempo de las mariposas" should love this story as well-sad as it is-and it's amazing that there is actually an introduction by Dedé Miraba herself. I've listened to it over and over again and it's priceless. With as few great selections as there are in Spanish to listen to, I'm thrilled to have found this. Me encanta. Es precioso.

A Really Interesting Book

I really enjoyed this book a lot and feel that Ricky Martin did a good job with it. He kept it interesting throughout. (I bought this in Spanish because it's a good way to study the language.) I was really impressed with the book and would recommend it. The parts dealing with how he feels about his sons and family in general were very touching.

Heartwarming

I thought this book was great and that Jorge Ramos did a good job narrating it. I would have preferred *not* to have the music in the background as I found it distracting, but the letters were well written and heart-felt and very touching. Muy bonito el libro y bueno para mi para estudiar espa?ol.

Touching

This book held my interest and was very enjoyable. Unlike the other reviewers, I'm not from Puerto Rico but have been learning Spanish and purchased the book in order to practice reading in that language.
I was fascinated with the story and couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. There was humor throughout and the author had a unique way of reacting to things. She and I graduated from high school in the same year (as it turns out) and I could relate to some of the history in the book and the family stories were also quite moving.
I did feel as though the author sometimes seemed to feel a little "picked on" but that didn't detract from the story at all. She was also completely impressive and intelligent and lived a life far different from my own. I loved the book and learned lots of Spanish along the way. The story was quite touching and I'm looking forward to reading anything I can by Esmeralda Santiago.

This is a good style for me.

This may not work for everybody but I'm really pleased with having found this. I've been working on learning Spanish for a few years(yes, it's difficult!)and this is a good level for me. I'm finding that I'm progressing conversationally with it. The repetition is a little annoying but it's exactly what's helpful.
