Historia
The old Apache renegade Soldado Viejo is hiding out in Mexico, and the Arizona Department Adjutant has selected two men to hunt him down. One -- Dave Flynn -- knows war, the land, and the nature of his prey. The other is a kid lieutenant named Bowers. But there's a different kind of war happening in Soyopa. And if Flynn and his young associate choose the wrong allies -- and the wrong enemy -- they won't be getting out alive.

Dreadful Narration
Revisado: 11-24-20
As always, the story by Elmore Leonard is gripping, fast-paced and unpredictable. Unfortunately, the breathy, rasping narration by Josh Clark is dreadful. The characters aren't differentiated, so they all sound the same. Men supposedly in their early twenties are voiced by what sounds like a 90-year-old man dying of emphysema or throat cancer. This makes an otherwise great story virtually unlistenable. Do better, Audible - please re-release this story with a different narration. Elmore Leonard deserves better than this.

Couldn't Finish It
Revisado: 08-26-19
I started and stopped, started and stopped-I couldn't get interested enough in the characters to finish the book.

A Dreadful Performance
Revisado: 04-18-19
Almost unlistenable. Some good Maigrets have here been disastrously adapted for amateurish radio theater. The histrionic acting and phony upper-crust British accents make the dialogue difficult to understand and, incredible for Simenon, boring . Much better to buy the Maigret audiobooks narrated by Gareth Armstrong. Those are gems.

Narration is Terrible
Revisado: 12-08-18
I love Walter Mosley's writing, but I can't get past this narration. In trying too hard to sound like a tough-guy detective, the narrator spits out words like little bullets. This completely overshadows the story, and makes the book essentially un-listenable. I don't fault the narrator, I fault the producer. Fail.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-28-18
I should have guessed that a collection with such a lame theme would result in a collection of lame stories. Elmore Leonard excepted, these are just awful. A waste of time and money.
