Historia
In The Godfather of Kathmandu, Royal Thai police detective Sonchai Jitpleecheep is called to a grisly murder scene that could make or break his career, but he’s more worried about impressing Tietsin, his new Buddhist guru. However, Tietsin would rather use Sonchai to help him broker a heroin deal worth 40 million dollars. Left with no easy way out and plenty of moral conflict, Sonchai will have to decide between saving his soul and saving his career.

Amazing romp of a story; best voice acting narration
Revisado: 10-23-20
Typically rich John Burdett tale, enlivened by the stunning acting skills of the narrator. Movie-like.

A rare find
Revisado: 09-11-17
I became delighted in the main character, and felt that it was enough to adore this gentleman and his ways, his friends, his love. But then the author picked up the pace and gave me a grand adventure, to boot! I loved this story enormously, and the telling of it by the expressive, humorous narrator enhanced my enjoyment. I'm so grateful to my local book club for their selection of this wonderful work.

Historia
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Astonishingly good writing and performance, very moving
Revisado: 07-22-17
Without being in the least bit cloying, this story moved me to tears numerous times. As soon as I finished listening to it -- out of order, as it turned out, which made it strangely even more gripping -- I purchased another Audible book by the same author, John Green, and another book narrated by the same tremendously talented voice actor, Kate Rudd. Every once in a while, my Audible selections have brought me an experience of the book that feels like it far exceeds reading. The amazing range and acting of the narrator breathed a vital force into each character. I would recommend this Audible selection very highly.

Rewarding marathon

We listened to this in a sprint, on a two-day roadtrip. What a blast! Juicy characters, unquenchable adventure, tension, horror, pathos. Loved it!

Much more than I expected
Revisado: 04-21-17
What made the experience of listening to Big Little Lies the most enjoyable?
The format works incredibly well as an audible book, and the story is superb. This is not the slight, gossipy, voyeuristic beach read I expected. I loved the characters sincerely, by the end.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Riveting, beautifully told
Revisado: 12-19-16
Would you consider the audio edition of All the Light We Cannot See to be better than the print version?
N/A
Who was your favorite character and why?
Uncle Etienne has a fascinating back story and great courage, in spite of the trauma he has suffered.
What about Zach Appelman’s performance did you like?
The narrator gave voice to terrible events without blurring or exaggerating.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I found this story hard to put down. If I had the luxury of listening to it all at once, I would.
Any additional comments?
The use of dates in the chapter headings was ENORMOUSLY HELPFUL in this story, which bounced around in time.
