Historia
As the ash and chaos from Mount Rainier’s eruption swirled and finally settled, the story of the Greenloop massacre has passed unnoticed, unexamined...until now. The journals of resident Kate Holland, recovered from the town’s bloody wreckage, capture a tale too harrowing - and too earth-shattering in its implications - to be forgotten. In this audiobook, Max Brooks brings Kate’s extraordinary account to light for the first time, faithfully reproducing her words alongside his own extensive investigations into the massacre and the legendary beasts behind it.

MAX BROOKS YOU 'VE DONE IT AGAIN!!
Revisado: 07-28-24
Don't let Brad Pitt make this movie, he TOTALLY missed a "Band of Bothers" series type presentation of your other book. What a great story this man is and even though it is likely adding to the illiteracy rates going up in the USA LOVE LOVE LOVE these teleplay multi cast 1930s radio inspired presentations. You can't go wrong with a Max Brooks Story!!!

Historia
Sparkling with magical realism, this book follows nine seemingly separate stories that dovetail in an unexpected and profound climax. It begins with a mysterious pow-wow to be held inside a colossal tipi, 3.5 miles tall and three miles wide, which suddenly appears on the outskirts of a small town. Advertising fliers blanket the area and all of Indian country, billing itself as "The Pow-Wow of all Pow-Wows." There is a stipulation to the pow-wow though: only full-blooded Native Americans are allowed to dance, drum, or attend the grand event.

The best modern legends I've EVER heard!!
Revisado: 01-05-23
What Catch-22 did for the the better understanding of the everyday military mindset, military logic & reason...this book does for the place the American Indian lives every hour of every day. If you want to feel what the Jews felt when they heard the Christ child prophecy for the first time? hear this story without your past getting in your way....every prophecy has a beginning, open yourself to this one. The indigenous peoples of North America tell the history of these continents in our stories; mountains erupting simultaneously, land bridges and how they were formed, great lakes before they disappeared; your geologists confirm those same events but the "blue eyed tribe" & children of Christ never complete that circle of thought. The oldest known pair of sandals in North America were found in OR under the soot of Mt. Mazama in the 1930s and we have a memory of that past down from elder to child for centuries, without the use of letters or symbols, this story will rank among them in a time you and I will never know.

Historia
Devotion tells the inspirational story of the U.S. Navy’s most famous aviation duo, Lieutenant Tom Hudner and Ensign Jesse Brown, and the Marines they fought to defend. A white New Englander from the country-club scene, Tom passed up Harvard to fly fighters for his country. An African American sharecropper’s son from Mississippi, Jesse became the navy’s first Black carrier pilot, defending a nation that wouldn’t even serve him in a bar.

Historia
Standing Rock Sioux activist, professor, and attorney Vine Deloria, Jr., shares his thoughts about US race relations, federal bureaucracies, Christian churches, and social scientists in a collection of 11 eye-opening essays infused with humor. This "manifesto" provides valuable insights on American Indian history, Native American culture, and context for minority protest movements mobilizing across the country throughout the 60s and 70s. Originally published in 1969, this book remains a timeless classic and is one of the most significant nonfiction works written by a Native American.

The best place to start to understand the US
Revisado: 05-31-20
If you want to better understand why the American continues to make bad decisions domestically & internationally then listen to this book. It will explain the history of your country to you from a position you can't imagine. Many of the ideas have come to pass and others are still in action, not all of them good, this book says even more now than it did in 1969.
