A great new years kickstart
Revisado: 02-02-23
I really enjoyed this book. It was a great way to start off the new year. It has great ideas for how to reassess your life and your prior year to help you with the new year ahead with functional ideas on how to achieve your goals for the year spiritually, with family, friends and yourself. I would recommend this book to any Christian

Historia
Of all the women you know, how many of them would you describe as "a lady"? Naturally, you know women who are kind and intelligent, witty and resourceful; but a lady is an altogether different variety of female. She's mindful of the effect she has on those around her, and she's careful not to let her words or appearance betray her true intentions. How to Be a Lady is a charming reminder of what it takes to be an exemplary woman - someone who knows how to breeze through an awkward conversation with poise, or delicately sidestep the beauty salon gossip.

Tattoos. Unwed pregnancy. Giving up on shaving…showering…and employment. These used to be signatures of a trashy individual. Now they’re the new norm. What happened to etiquette, hygiene, and self-restraint? Charlotte Hays, Southern gentlewoman extraordinaire, takes a humorous look at the spread of white trash culture to all levels of American society.

Some good insights, a bit too much negativity
Revisado: 01-17-20
I bought this book thinking it was more of a book on southern etiquette .... some manners were spoken about that I will take with me as good knowledge.... but unfortunately the author uses a lot of negative references that almost made it unbearable for me.

While the formal rules of etiquette are not taught the way they once were, good manners are as critical today as they ever were. 50 Things Every Young Lady Should Know provides a modern update on the ageless idea that girls should know appropriate and courteous responses to any given situation.

Great reminder of basic etiquette rules

Even though this book is more aimed at a middle school or high school girl, being an adult who never was taught etiquette, I still found it useful. Definitely would be a great book for 9-18 year old girls. Good read.
