Historia
It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Fully enjoyed listening to this set! Loved the vulnerability of Zed & Murphy. A lot of blood & guts, but in that situation I’m sure that would be the reality unfortunately. Definitely recommend this book series...

Excellent continuation of the 1st book!
Loved how she tied together the storylines from the 60’s back to the 1740’s.
And a big shout out to Davina Porter for her narrating skills!!! So well done!!!
I am looking for more books that she has done now.

I loved the movies. I usually read books 1st before I listen or watch movies. So this was different for me. While much was the same as the films, there was of course much more details. I do have to say the singing hit annoying. Maybe it was the time period that it was written, but a couple of tunes would have sufficed for me... although I must say the narrator had a very nice voice. Overall, I loved it. Now on to the next!!!

Historia
It is the turn of the 18th century in Frankfurt, Germany, and young Gutle and Meir Amschel Rothschild struggle to establish themselves in the cramped, restricted Judengasse. But when Meir’s talents as a novice banker catch the attention of a German prince, Meir is afforded entrée into the European world of finance and nobility, and the Rothschilds’ lives are changed forever. As proud as Gutle is of her husband’s success, she is also cautious - very much aware of the fact that her husband’s rise is tied to his patrons’ willingness to “see past” his Jewishness.

Informative & Enjoyable

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. I realized halfway through that it was based on a real life family. A very rich, influential family. I grew to love the heroine for her strong character, fortitude & live for her husband & her family & God. Well voiced as well. Would definitely recommend this read.

Historia
Vampyres don't exist. They absolutely do not exist. At least I didn't think they did 'til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead? Now I'm a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren't bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite, and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe.

Quirky fun!
Revisado: 05-02-18
I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. Got it on Bookbub. Not sure what I was expecting. I think I got it because it was cheap. It was a pleasant surprise... there is a lot of swearing and some sex so if that bothers you I would avoid it. But if it doesn’t, give it a try.
The humor is actually what hooked me. The twists & turns & funny characters had me wanting more.
The woman who did the reading did a few me job of changing her voice for the many characters. Was not distracting like some readers can be.
I am planning on getting the next book in the series.

Loved this!
Revisado: 03-10-18
I enjoyed this book very much. The characters were very real. Not perfect. They both had flaws, but were lovable anyway.
The story is about a man, Lance, trying to find answers to long ago secrets about his ailing New York Italian grandmothers past.
His journey takes him 1st to Italy, then to Napa Valley to an old villa that is being painstakingly brought back to life by a young lady named Reese that has secrets of her own.
He convinces her to let him stay on in return for his cooking, maid service & refurbishing the carriage house in return for free room & board for her planned bed & breakfast.
I love how the writer weaves in Lance’s personal walk with the Lord & how he is trying to make things right for his Nona. The Lord speaks to Reese as well, and helps her to deal with tragedy & pain from her past.
Note: Audible did a great job on the narration!

Nice.
Revisado: 03-01-18
I’m from Lancaster, PA. So trying not to be too critical of some of the pronunciations. Some of our “Dutch” words can be hard to say. The story was good. A female sheriff investigating a 15 year old murder that involves the Amish community in 2 different states. Believable, strong female character. Will read more in the series.

Historia
We were best friends since as early as I could remember. We grew up together. We were next door neighbors. We shared each other's deepest secrets. When I was 13, we made a pact: if we were still single by the time we were 30, we'd marry each other. Today was my 30th birthday. I was single. I knew he was single, too. But we were no longer best friends, and a part of me knew that he hated me.

I could not identify with the heroine at all. I was pretty much disgusted with the book. Especially the ending. Sorry I stuck with it till the end.
