This series is the most amusing sweet and of violent murder mysteries. The whole series is cute with the thoughts of the dog an other animals but also interesting suspense as little mysteries build to a grand climax. I recommend this whole heartedly to anyone liking entertaining mysteries and will allow animals to think and talk to themselves.

Very satisfying!

I came skeptically and what unfolded was a mystery of great complications only time travel can provide! Also fully satisfying are the way she reads the characters true to voice!!!! Very glad I indulged both time and money for this clever book.

Good and mysteries….Yum Yum

These light fun mysteries start as light entertainment and then hook you. Food and mysteries are my second favorite combination. The brilliant dog detective is pure fun!!! They are not as formulative as the quick turn out may lead you to believe but have true moments or originality. The mysteries are tricky enough to keep you coming back for more! Very clean and fun with mild violence these are the perfect rest for a busy mind! Playing then back and forth to work makes you look forward to the commute!!!

Worse performance ever...

I checked twice to make sure this was audible... it was Alexander McCall Smith. But it was NOT Lesette Lecat. It was so hard to listen to Mme Kutzi and Charlie in the same screeching whining voice. If not for the story I would not have been able to continue listening. If Ms. Lecat is no longer available please find another reader.

Finally a clever horse story!!!

I’ve read almost every book about horses or with horses. Not since Black Beauty has there been a book about horses with social commentary, horse knowledge, and an understanding of people involved with horses as good as The Horse Dancer.

What begins as several threads of different lives weave into a carpet of complexity and beauty. There are many dark threads that must be dealt with before the beauty of the finished product appears. Realistic, intelligent, historical and socially intuitive this story never falters with each thread!

Most impressive is the dealing with the institution of l’ecole Cadre Noir. The historic performance art form is explained in a way even non horse people may appreciate the beauty and preservation of the art of dressage.

Thankyou Ms Moyes for the horse story I have craved for so long!

Dystopian Sci-fi with military and tech flavors

This is an amazing story told so well. At first I was enjoying the development of this strong female lead when it broke into another level. The futuristic tech -splanations are both simply explained and based on currently developing technology. Then it jumps to another level with a steamy romance that get highjacked by a military strategy attack. Finally we get around to the wonderful reason of the title! I haven’t enjoyed a book this much since....hunger games or dragon riders of pern! Great story well told!!

Delightfully good detective series

By this I mean the detective is a good person who you like immediately. The detective is a good detective who wants to help all involved wronged and villain when worthy of a second chance! Mostly she NEVER victimizes the victim. So refreshing! And I’m Fallling in love with Botswana a good nation!!!
